The Helgasons' Edit of AK Extreme Carnage

If you weren’t aware, the self-proclaimed ‘sketchiest snowboard contest ever’ went off in the Icelandic town of Akureyri, with a host of loons trying doubles off a small kicker with a run-in built out of shipping containers. It was as rootsy a comp as you’ll care to find on the planet, and that made it all the more awesome.

Seriously, how do you think that trying doubles off a 6m jump is doable? These Icelanders have what the Finns might call sisu, though, and what doesn’t break them only makes them stronger. Gulli Gudmundsson styled his way into first, with local lad Danni second and Halldor ‘I try double 10s on small jumps’ Helgason in third.
