Iouri Podladtchikov has been on a bit of a tear of late, but sadly a couple of niggling injuries prevented him from giving Peetu Piiroinen a real test in the TTR Tour. Make no bones about it – as good an all-rounder as Peetu is, IPod certainly has the skills on the kickers and in pipe to have a say in matters, and furthermore has a fierce competitive streak that could have made the Tour a bit more interesting this year had he stayed fit.
But for all his heavy skills on a snowboard – it’s worth mentioning that he’s still the only other rider we’ve seen throw Shaun White’s Double McTwist 12 in the pipe – we realised that aside from a few boozy encounters at events we know precious little about him and his approach to his riding. With a move from Volcom to Quiksilver freshly under his belt, we sat down with Iouri a while back with the intention of setting that right. Check it out.
