Time Travel Tuesdays - Jussi Oksanen in TB10

02:34PM Tue, 5th April 2011

Though we’re struggling to believe it, it is in fact darn near 10 years since this part from Jussi Oksanen blew minds in Standard Films’ TB10 – Optigrab. And it is a banger…

When this flick dropped in Fall 2001, Jussi’s parts were arguably the hottest ticket in snowboard cinema. The kid from Kirkkonummi, Finland was part of the second wave of Scandic shredders to up sticks and try their luck in the US and Jussi’s mind-boggling ambidextrous skills meant that he quickly made a name for himself with parts in TB8 and TB9 and a succession podiums at major contests. Around the time this part in TB10: Optigrab dropped, Jussi was regularly called the ‘Best Freestyle Snowboarder on the Planet’ by excitable media types and from this part it’s easy to see why: he slays park, backcountry and urban terrain – regular or switch – with equal fervor. Look out for the first ever switch backside 1080 at the start…

The season following would see Jussi band together with a bunch of other leading shredders of the time to call their own shots in the revolutionary Robot Food film, Afterbang, which would further cement Jussi’s status as one of snowboarding’s legendary riders.

Check this bad boy out…
