While the season is coming to an end, the last Art page is dedicated to a topic that is ongoing: the fight against cancer. Globally it was one of the leading cause of death in 2010. Breast cancer, is a disease that many ranked snowboard girls have had to deal with. Amongst them Tina Basich and Shannon Dunn, who founded the charity Boarding For Breast Cancer after their friend Monica Steward died from the disease aged 28.
The London Based independent record label, Ninja tunes, celebrated its 20-year anniversary in style at the end of 2010 with a series of gigs put on in association with DC Shoes. 2010 was also a productive year for fans of Coldcut, with the launch of new artists such as The Dels plus new releases by some of the label’s big artists, namely roots Manuva.

The fun thing about the Miller flip is that it works on almost every obstacle or spot! You can start easy on a little spine or over a small log at the side of the slope and then push it further to spots like handrails, fences and spires… what’s important in general is that you don’t “crash” into the obstacle with too much speed, but have a good flight curve with a dead spot where you’re kinda weightless.

This revelation relates to the response that those with a vested interest in your wellbeing habitually say when tell them you’re going for a ride: “Be careful”. Well here it is: I hate that phrase. It’s prophetic.
