DAC Team News – April 07:
The sun is out and the snow is melting, but our team just finished an amazing season. The media presence was huge and consistent throughout the winter, and competition results were solid, but a couple of riders really stood out at the end of the season and deserve credit for kicking ass on an international level.
A big congratulations goes out to our 17 year old rookie, Denis Supersaxo who won the Popcorn Wallride and $1000 last weekend in Saas Fee. Denis impressed everyone, battling his way through qualifications and taking the title in front of a host of international stars including Nicolas Mueller, Freddie Kalbermatten and Rudi Kroell. The word is out on our 17 year old rookie and we’re expecting big things from him next season!
Christian Weber also had another great winter with a high profile win in Verbier at the, “Take the Hill” slopestyle comp in front of many of Switzerland’s top pros. He’s also been dominating the Swiss media (Whiteout, The Box, Gustav, 24 hr) as well as doing some heavy shooting with Onboard photographers Pat Vermeulen and Peter Lundstrom. Look forward to his travel story about shredding Bulgaria in next year’s mags.
Christian wasn’t the only guy who hit the road this season in search of snow. Simon Abt went on a rail mission with Pleasure Magazine in Latvia, and is sitting on a stack of nice shots. He also deserves credit for battling his way to the european finals of Peanut Butter and Rail Jam.
Another rookie on the move is Mat Bumann, who had a nice VIP trip to Turkey. The conditions weren’t the best, but he enjoyed showing the Turkish guys how to have fun shredding.
Lastly, a big congratulations goes out to Joel Eschbach who scored a job at 7th Sky magazine. Joel is a multi-talented rider, photographer and artist who knows a hell of a lot about the skate and snow scenes. He’ll definitely be a major asset to that mag! He also got to hit some deep Canadian powder recently, while on a filming mission with David Benedek’s, Blank Paper Studios.
