Gothenburg Rail Battle 2010 Video

On 30 October, Gothenburg saw the Gothenburg Rail Battle. A lot of top-notch riders were throwing down their arsenal of jib tricks over the stair feature. TTR 3-STAR GOTHENBURG RAIL BATTLE 2010

The first edition of TTR 3-star event Gotheburg Rail Battle is now over and done! After months of preparations it was finally time to run the event and the weekend kicked off with a great party wich included the premiere of Pirate productions new movie Hooked.

Then on Saturday alot of tired faces showed up at 2pm to check out the arena and the general comment was that the arena looked sick!

At 3pm when the qualification started the event area was already crowded and the 16 riders started the 1 hour battle and only 5 riders would pass on to the evening finals.
In the end it was Gerben Verweij (NED), Noa Gadelius (SWE), Cees Wille (NED), Johan Karlsson (SWE) and Joel Andersson (SWE) who impressed the judges the most and advanced to the finals.

At 6pm it was time for the riders to start fighting for the money and the TTR points and a couple of thousands of people had gathered to see their favorite Snowboarders throw down sick railtricks! DJ Sid was behind the wheels of steels and created a great atmosphere! The riders pushed themselves to the max and we saw tricks like Cab 360 switch nose press cab 360 out, cab 270 hardway pretzel out and bs 180 switch nosepress on the down flat down rail. In the end it was following riders that impressed the judges the most and walked away with the money and TTR points:

1. Halldor Helgasson (ICE) 5000 USD
2. Noa Gadelius (SWE) 2000 USD
3. Ludwig Lejkner (SWE) 1000 USD

There was also a Best trick contest on each rail and the winners was Halldor Helgasson with a Cab 360 switch nose press cab 360 out on the downrail and Noa Gadelius with a gap bs 270 on the down flat down rail. Both guys were awarded 1000 USD each for the tricks.

After the prizegiving ceremony it was time for Hip Hop Legends Looptroop to enter the stage in front of 1500 crazy fans. Looptroop put on a full on 1hrs set with a lot of energy on stage! After the concert it was time for the official afterparty held at Valand Nightclub and the placed was packed with more than 1000 party animals. As this wasn ́t enough there was a secret concert with Looptroop at the nightclub around 1.30am and the whole place went completely mad!!
