Artec Snowboards have recruited Swedish freestyle shredder Kalle Ohlson to the ranks of their pro team. With his Scanner roots, incredible talent and a mellow attitude combined with solid parts in the last couple Pirate videos Overseas and Jolly Roger, Kalle and Artec are a perfect match.
Artec’s Creative Director Blaise Rosenthal (remember his parts in the Mack Dawg movies back in the day?) had this to say: “Kalle is exactly the kind of kid we were looking for: someone who is out there pushing it every day, and someone who is cool to hang out with and more interested in parts than podiums. He’s already putting the finishing touches to another banger part with the Pirates, so look out for their new release in fall 2010. Kalle is also the first Euro dude we’ve turned pro, and we’re stoked to go more global with our team.”
Kalle himself was pumped: “I’m super happy to be joining the Artec family. I know I’m gonna have a good time here – the vibe is so good! I’ve been riding a bunch of different Artec models, and I’m digging them all. It’s really nice to focus 100% on how the boards ride rather than how they look. Let’s face it – we all care about graphics, so it’s cool that each and every Artec board look so damn sweet. Thanks to Artec for signing me up!”
Artec’s marketing dude, Dragan Gojkovic was also stoked. ”Kalle’s creative character and natural ability on a snowboard really epitomize Artec’s approach to snowboarding. His fresh take on freestyle snowboarding always keeps you guessing, and the only consistent factor in his riding is that it never fails to blow your mind. It’s good to have you onboard, Kalle – welcome to the team!”
