Yesterday, Transworld Business’ website published an article in which they were revealing that after a recent board meeting, the Quiksilver Board decided to cut around 30 jobs as well as most of the athletes, both on Quiksilver and DC.
Although Quiksilver has decided not to communicate further towards these allegations for the moment, we’ve noticed that some of the riders, whether they are surfers, snowboarders or skaters, have published disclaimers about these rumours, which for most part shouldn’t be affecting Europe.
One of them is Portuguese surfer Tiago Pires, who wrote on his Facebook page: “There’s been a news item in many surf industry websites stating that Quiksilver fired myself and many of their main teamriders! This statement is completely false and unfounded. I have a wonderful relationship with the brand that I am very proud to represent. There’s only one thing that comes up to my mind: CHEAP JOURNALISM.”
More news soon on this.
