Join the ‘Jenny Jones for BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2010‘ group.
Ok, so it’s a Facebook group but look at what such campaigns did for Rage Against The Machine last Christmas…
Jenny is Britain’s most successful snowboarder – with three X-Games gold medals amongst the host of other victories and movie parts she’s got on her CV – and some dude’s decided it’s about time that her successes deserve some proper recognition from the British mainstream media by creating a Facebook campaign to get her on the BBC.
The BBC Sports Personality of the Year award (‘Personality’ might be a tad mis-leading – previous winners have been notorious funbags Michael Owen and Ryan Giggs) is when the Beeb reward those who’ve had outstanding success in their sport with some bling and a speech, and seeing as we can’t think of another British sportswoman that’s been so dominant in her field as Jenny’s been, not to mention being as fun to party with as JJ is, we’re giving the campaign our full backing.
This is a win-win situation – if you’re a British rider you’ll surely have no lack of motivation to give Jenn your backing, and if you’re not from Monkey Island then it’s always nice to see riders get the respect they deserve.
So click HERE, join the group and let it be known.
