We just got this from our friend Mathieu Crepel who’s currently in Alaska shooting for Absinthe: CanAlaska, the gold search.

“Alaska is always the ultimate pilgrimage and the last chance to get shots for your part. But more than just this it’s a true experience against yourself and nature that you have to respect even more than everywhere else to enjoy it at its most., This year is even more so because we decided to explore a new zone where no one ever rode before. No comfy heli-skiing lodge, no hot showers, no toilets but the woods… just our little motor homes parked on the side of the road., In these conditions you learn to live for the group not just for yourself. When you’re out in an untouched territory all that really matters is to get back at the camp safe at the end of the day. We took the first days quite easy to understand the snowpack try to find the good spots and make a game plan. And then the party started! Every morning you have that knot in your stomach, knowing you’ll have to face those huge mountains and glaciers, that fear that keeps you safe, but also makes everything so much more enjoyable and at the end of each run you just have that incredible feeling that can’t compare to anything else., Then you have a few bad weather days where the pressure fades a little bit and you know you’re not gona risk you life for a while and can enjoy the wilderness of Alaska., Chasing bald-eagles, fishing or at least trying, disk golfing, bbqs by the beach…, We’ve been here for 3 weeks and didn’t really think about when leaving! I guess summer and surfing will have to wait a bit more…”

- Mathieu.

SEABA is the go to heli-op in AK. The terrain is the sickest we’ve seen, and Haines is a gem of a town. The crew at SEABA is the shit. Can’t wait to get back there this year!

Brothers Eric and John Jackson continue their epic roadtrip series with another balls-out installment. Still in AK, still with Travis Rice and surfer Ian Walsh in tow, the crew create their own backcountry funpark and fully send it. Insane riding.

John’s still got a duffed back so sits the session out, but witnessing Eric and Travis tear the face a new one is too much to bare so he hops in the bird for a couple of ‘mellow’ laps. Tomahawking with a bad injury? Yeah, 30m back 7s are so mellow. Emerging unscathed he puts it down perfect second try, while Rice has the pick of the stunts with his sideswiping first track back rodeo 7.

This is epic riding from three of the heaviest of hitters.

In the third episode of “Brothers on the Run,” the perfect conditions allow the boys to get another day of amazing riding in. After witnessing Eric and Travis tear up the slopes, John can’t help but take a few runs of his own. The already injured wild man takes a wicked spill, but somehow manages to ride away unscathed. Watch as the crew try some innovative tricks in the Alaskan fresh powder, before heading to the next destination.

The second installment of the Jackson brothers’ web series charting their journey from Alaska to Chile sees them score epic conditions in AK with hellman Travis Rice and surfer Ian Walsh. The end of this episode is stupid, plain and simple.

Ian Walsh joins the epic crew of Travis Rice, John Jackson, and Eric Jackson in Alaska where the weather gods were on their side. Blue bird skies and fresh pillows of powder produced some banger lines from each one of the crew, even John Jackson against the doctor’s order. This is only the start of more adventures on their journey across two continents – from Alaska down to southern Chile.

Went to Juneau with Mark Landvik in March. It was a homecoming of sorts for him. Real big news in that little town. One local reporter even wrangled him for a story during his stay. Here’s an excerpt of the interview and a few visuals from around Lando’s hometown.

The Mad Ones is a a web-based video project by Liam Gallagher. Inspired by the Beat Generation and specifically the writings of Jack Kerouac, The Mad Ones will follow the freaks, all winter long. Web flicks will be released every Monday through May. Some will be action edits, others about odd balls or oddities seen, weird experiences or whatever else happens to happen. Then, next September it’ll all be mashed into a free-for-download movie.

Supported by: K2 Snowboarding, Drink Water and 686.
