EUPHORIA Premiere in Salzburgs Jazz it on the 10th of december 2011

Argon Films EUPHORIA was quite a big success last year and now it’s time to celebrate another moviepremiere. On the 10th of december 2011 Salzburgs Jazz it is the place to be, gates are open at around 9 pm! To get you hyped for the premiere we have two reedited Webclips from Sölden and Alta Badia, where its all about big jumps and slow motions!

The moviepremiere will definitely be the highlight of the evening as the flick will be presented in perfect HD supported  by the awesome sound of this well known music location. In addition to that there is a lot going on with different acts that cover a broad field of different music styles!

The Decktales and  Jocki Köffler alias Essenjahl Selectah will start in the bar to get things going! After the movie the party will continue until dawn with Herald and I from Vienna and the Drum and Bass Headliner Soul Intent from England. Besides the one and only Chris Cab, who will be the host for the night you can expect almost the whole Argon Crew on site, so better beware!

Alta Badia is one of the biggest resorts in the Dolomites and a hot spot for European snowboarders. Argon Films just released their second teaser for their upcoming movie project. Instead of boring you with a lengthy press release they sent us an interview with the Austrian shred legend Chris Kröll. Here it is in all its glory:

A few days prior to the „Incredible Project“ Session in Sölden, we heard rumors about another big jump in Alta Badia in South Tyrol. In front of the beautiful Dolomites, a quite huge 20 meter jump was built and was just perfect to prepare for the special element in Soelden. Additionally it was time to test the remote cameracopter for the first time. Chris Kröll was part of the gang and we asked him some questions.

Hey Chris, tell us a little bit about the new movieproject from „Argon Films“

Hey. Actually I am quite happy to be involved in this project because all those guys know how to produce good shots. Me and all other riders are pretty motivated and we will see what comes up in the next years!

How was your Season so far?

Pretty good and without injuries! I rode a lot of contests and as always tried to collect photo- and videoshots.

How was the session in Alta Badia?

The weather was just perfect: To ride this jump in front of the massive Dolomites during the sunset was really special, but watch the clip and you know what I mean.

Tom Tramnitz was all over that place.

In Sölden and in Alta Badia you filmed with a remote helicopter. How is it different, as a rider, to normal filming?

As these things cannot stay in the air forever, everything tends to be a little bit more stressy. All riders are waiting in a row and have to drop in fast, one after one! Once you get used to that its all good.

Do the riders motivate themselves even more because they know that its really worth it?

Definitely! Everybody knows that you dont get these angles on a daily basis and therefore charges as hard as possible.

Yes, it was that big.

What do you expect from the finished Argon movie in fall?

Just a cool movie, which will give a push to the austrian scene and the austrian snowboardfilm business!

Where else than in Italy something really delicious will be served up at the end of the season? In the Snowpark Alta Badia, in the heart of the breathtaking Dolomites South Tyrol, the last day of the season on the 9th April, will be celebrated with a sick TTR 2* Slopestyle Contest in cooperation with the SeaSide Snow Club. LA FREESTYLA, that’s the name of the new event in the freestyle mecca of South Tyrol. It will be a massive event with a great portion of entertainment such as smooth DJ sound, a live speaker and a huge party!

Attention freestyle fans! On the 9th of April 2011 the Snowpark Alta Badia will be stirred up again. All snowboarders not only have the chance to win price money in sum of EUR 2.000,- and goodies worth EUR 2.000,-, but the riders also have the chance to collect points for the QParks Tour final which will take place from 7th-8th May 2011 in the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein! All snowboarders can also collect TTR points because the La Freestyle contest is also a Swatch TTR 2* event.

At the “La Freestyla” you can expect a smashing contest for all snowboarders afterwards in the Posta Zirm Hotels Taverna a big after-show-party starts from 21 o’clock on to celebrate the end of season. La Freestyle is not only a slopestyle contest but also part of the QParks Tour, more precisely the 9th stop of the current tour!

For the first time the whole QParks team will also seize the opportunity for a big cometogether to celebrate the great season. Besides the international starting field you can also watch the elite of Europes parkdesigners and well known riders when they shred the park hard at the contest.

But also the style should not be missed out. In order to focus on style at the QParks Tour the PLAYBOARD Best Trick Snowboard will be rewarded with price money from Playboards. Further the contest winner receives an annual subscription of PLAYBOARD.

The contest equally appeals to snowboarders. The judges will rate two categories:
1. rating : Boys & Girls „Rookies“ (16 years and younger) 2. rating: Boys & Girls (from 17 on)

You can register online on www.qparks.com or directly on site on 9th April 2011 from 9:00 a.m. in the chill area in the Snowpark Alta Badia. In the race office you can collect your competition number and further information of the contest.
The participation is for free, in sum there are 100 starting positions. All participants that will come together at 9:00 a.m sharp in the chill area in the park will have the opportunity to get a starting position.

EVERYONE CAN WIN
No matter whether you are a rider or just a spectator – everyone can win at the QParks tour. All riders who register online on www.qparks.com for the contest can collect “Votes” on their online profile. The profile with the most “Votes” at the end of the tour wins a 2-week trip to the Balicamp! Horsefeathers outerwear planned a shoot in the Dachstein Superpark they sponsor, but bad weather forced them to Northern Italy – Alta Badia – where riders Ville Uotila, Darek Bergman, Michi Ziringibl and more threw down to come up with this video…

In January this year, right after the Burton European Open, two Horsefeathers teamriders Ville Uotila and Darek Bergmann together with photographer David Blazek and PTRSN as the camera guy went to Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein. They were invited there for Qparks photo shooting session.

The shooting has finally been canceled due to bad weather conditions. They therefore moved to Dolomiti Superski resort in Alta Badia in northern Italy. They picked up Austrian Horsefeathers rider Stephan Wimmer on the way there. Horsefeathers new team member Flo Galler joined the crew in Alta Badia. Unfortunately he had bad luck and he hurt him self on the first spot so he could not finish the tour. The good news was that Michi Zirngibl confirmed his participation in this Italian trip despite his busy schedule.

Moreover the guys from Horsefeathers Swiss team Killian Wiget and Lukino Ramelli promised to come for at least last two days. Even though the weather conditions in Italy were not that good the guys found few interesting spots for shredding and shooting. Check out our brand new video from this trip.

You’re tired of always going to the same resort and looking for something new? Then read what the young mountain/QPark crew experienced in their new partner resort Alta Badia!

Max Weickl, Christoph Hettegger, Dani Limmer, Patrick Ausweger and Max Brandauer got together in January this year, to check out Alta Badia for their first park-shooting. The breath-taking scenery of the Dolomites as well as the perfect conditions made the shoot more than a success.

The plateau of Piz Sorega offers great slopes in the splendid sun and the park has an impressing set-up. The little trees, old shed and massive rocks made up a perfect background of which the riders took advantage and shot some photos combining action with a very special touch of serenity on their first day.

As you can see from the pictures, the guys had quite a lot of fun in the park! Besides the beginner line the park consists of a big rail-line with a 10m down rail, a flat down box, and a-frame box as well as a wall ride. And there are quite a few kickers as well. Max Weickl enthusiastically described the medium line as “one of the funniest three-kicker lines that I’ve ever rode!” In combination with the two pro kickers they give you the opportunity to ride five jumps in a row – a real rarity that only few European resorts can be proud of!

But do not think that this is all Alta Badia can offer – this resort also has an amazing backcountry! The young mountain crew went for the area around the Boe Gonde, where they found a small bowl offering extremely good possibilities surrounded by beautiful mountains and were able to produce some real nice footage. Another spot provided lines with jumps, corners and drops. But this certainly isn’t everything! Best would be if you go there yourself and discover the Backcountry of Alta Badia!

Needless to say you can spend your evenings in hot après-ski bars in town.

So you see: Alta Badia has perfect backcountry conditions and a funpark with rails and kickers for every rider and media-crews. So check it out yourself, it’s definitely worth it!
