When you are a snowboard pro, life is not all about parties and getting your own pro model. Sometimes, your sponsors send you to an event where you actually have to snowboard and showcase your skills.

One of the best opportunities to do so is the Austrian Rookie Challenge that takes place form 5 to 7 March 2010 in Damüls/Vorarlberg. A lot of media people will be around to shoot, film, and interview upcoming riders during the jam, night, and backcountry sessions. Various mag editors vote for the best rookies, which guarantees pretty fair and unbiased results.

For seven years the ARC has been an independent “European Invitational Shred Happening”. Riders like Werni Stock, Niki Korpela or Peter König all made their way up through taking part in this event.
