For a few weeks the Snowpark Kitzsteinhorn has an all-new attraction: Apart from two park areas – the Easy Park and the Central Park – it now has an additional treat for all snowboarders: a full-on superpipe!

Gigantic construction project
With a length of 135m and a height of 6.30m (20 feet), the u-shaped pipe is truly unique in its construction. After intense snow production at the pipe area already in mid December, an incredible 25,000 cubic meters of snow were spread over the whole Superpipe. After having completed the basis construction, the optimum aptitudes as well as the perfect radius were milled into the huge walls with a Zaugg Monster Pipe Cutter. Thus safe drop-ins at an angle of almost 90° and smooth runs with massive airtime are guaranteed.

Perfect training conditions
The final result is an impressive piece of snowpark design, one Snowpark Kitzsteinhorn parkdesigner Stefan Plattner is also proud of: “With a length of 135m and a height of 6.3m, the Superpipe at the Kitzsteinhorn is really unique in its form and size and definitely not comparable to any other pipe project in Austria. Our overall aim was to produce a high-quality Superpipe from the very first, which – in combination with frequent reshaping – remains in its shape as long as possible and which can be used as a perfect training compound for pipe riders from all over Europe.” Despite its gigantic dimension, the Superpipe is also a real attraction for less advanced snowboarders. The elliptic form guarantees enough landing space and hence cares for sufficient safety. The Superpipe Kitzsteinhorn is opened daily from 9am to 3pm and can be shredded by all snowboarders.

All young guns who want to enjoy the freestyle and freeride paradise Kitzsteinhorn, can take advantage of the “power of ten” day ticket campaign. All visitors between 6 and 19 years (born between 1992 and 2004) only pay 10 Euros every Saturday throughout the season for a day ticket. This is it – the tour is over and the results in!

The 9th and final stop of the Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle Tour went down on 4 February 2011 at Blue Tomato Snowpark in Stuhleck Austria and revealed the last qualifier for the big finals. A total of 33 riders battled it out in a heated night session on the stairset in front of 400 spectators for their last chance to win a ticket for the finals.

At Stuhleck, the stair set was embedded right into the middle of the park, which offers up to eight rail-obstacles in one single line – replete with its own cable lift and floodlights for night sessions until 10PM.

Once again, the level of riding at this official TTR 2-Star event was incredible. And for added incentive, the final session went down in a “cash for tricks”-format. At the end of the day, the best 10 riders divided up the total purse of €2,000 amongst themselves – a sure recipe for a constant barrage of bangers!

Now that the tour is over, all we can do is wait for how the 9 qualified riders from all over Europe will battle it out against the pros on the XXL-Stairset at Munich Olympic Stadium. Fun and Friendship from Austria

It’s hard not to love this teaser as it is an all Austrian production, and who wouldn’t love Austrians with all their hospitality and quirkiness? Even better though, the riding itself is also fun to watch. Filming took place in and around Hintertux, Kaunertal, Arlberg, Whistler Champ of Champions, LesDeux, Japan… The rider list includes: Manuel Bernert, Mario Wanger, Macho Michael, Sebi Geiger, Thomas Feurstein, Flo Achenrainer, Bobby Dangl, Julia Baumgartner, Wuule Wanner, Stefan Falkeis, and Friends…

The action was filmed mainly in Tyrol but also all over Europe. 4 weeks of end of season sessions from April 17 to May 16 2010.

Though winter’s in full swing you might want to have a think about where you’ll get your shred on when spring kicks in… and one of the best places to do so is the Kaunertal glacier where the 7th Spring Classics will be going down.

There’s gonna be a massive park set-up for pros as well as amateurs, powder in the backcountry, bluebird skies, parties and heaps of side events on the glacier as well as down in the valley… it’s the perfect opportunity to say farewell to wintertime with a grin on your face.

This year’s program not only includes renowned highlights like the freeski and snowboard contests, media weeks, Butter bei dir Fische session and the soccer tournament but also introduces the first-time ‘film & photo week’ which will be taking place from May 3rd til 9th 2010!

Check the latest webisode from the Zillertal crew documenting the old dogs and the young guns of the Ästhetiker clan mixing it up.

For 2010 the Ästhetikers have planned a new format for their well-known boardsport-shows. In the new productions the ‘old dogs’ and the ‘young guns’ come together to create a new era in the Ästhetiker Tell Ä Vision history.

The ‘old dogs’, Steve Gruber, Chris and Rudi Kröll, Tom “Beckna” Eberharter, Friedl Kolar, Jocki Köffler, Gogo Gossner and many more shred together with the ‘young guns’ like 15 year old Georg Huber, Alex Walch, Werni Stock, Marc Swoboda, Herby Thaler, Phips Gruber, Flo Heim and Simon Schweiger. Also new in the project will be the first girl on Tell Ä Vision ever, namely Anne-Flore Marxer!

By snowboarding together they will support each other. The ‘young guns’ profit from the experience oft the ‘old dogs’ and the ‘old dogs’ can pick up the ‘young guns’ motivation.

The Ästhetikers are not only going to present a huge variety of snowboarding shots, they are going to show the emotions of all the riders, the discussions about powderlines, how to build a kicker or how to improve their riding! What the Ästhetikers want to show as well is an impression of how snowboard shots get produced!

Every two weeks during this season the Ä-Crew will produce a newsblog webisode to introduce the new riders and advertise some of the footage, which will be broadcasted in their shows in Fall 2010!

In Fall 2010 the Ästhetikers will present eight podcasts with the best footage of the season!

Win booty at the Wängl Tängl Photo Contest 2010!

The Ästhetiker crew are gonna be bringing the sickness to Mayrhofen once more this March 10-13 as the Wängl Tängl descends on the valley. But for those who can’t wait for the cauldron of creativity to get rocking, Hotzone.TV and The Seeker are kicking off something already that will get photo dawgs pumped – The Wängl Tängl Photo Contest.

There’s four rounds, with rounds one and two being Best Action and Best Party Picture 2009. If you’re a shooter or even just a wizard with the snappy cam and were at last year’s Wängl then get your digits clicking over to theseeker.at where you can already upload your action and party shots. The jury – comprised of photographer Christian Boehm, Vans Euro Team Manager Tom ‘Backna’ Eberharter, and designer, artist and shooter Simon Lemmerer – will stroke their chins, argue and then pick the best photos in each category with the winners bagging some booty from Hotzone, The Seeker, Ästhetiker, Red Bull and Mayrhofen.

The last two rounds – Best Snowboard Action 2010 and Best Skateboard Action 2010 – will kick off when this year’s event does, so if you’re around Mayrhofen with a big lens and you’re not afraid to use it, make sure you get involved by registering on The Seeker’s site. All winners will be announced there too.
