After an intense voting battle, Castleford Snozone secured the most votes and will now hold the UK leg of the Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle Tour

Local ripper Will Smith was amped: “Super hyped on the Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle being held at CAS – everyone always has a good time every time. It’s gonna be so sick to ride such a mad Stairset with mates and then have it there for the rest of season!”

The three UK SNO!Zones went head to head to win the Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle night and keep the ultimate Stairset feature. The voting has now closed after one month of intense Internet mayhem, the UK snowboard scene has spoken and Castleford has emerged victorious with 43.9% of the vote!

The Stairset Battle will take place on Friday 10th December 2010 from 6pm to 1am The event is now set to be one of the best nights ever in the SNO!Zone. Come and check some of the UK’s best rail slayers in the invite-only Stairset Battle, there is also the opportunity to ride in the open session for a reduced fee of £10. There will be bands and DJs on the snow as well as special guest performances at the after party. STANDINGsideways Sessions – Cas SNO!zone this Friday 7pm-11pm

The STANDINGsideways Sessions at Cas is nearly upon us and things are shaping up nicely…

Prizes are rolling in and the SS towers are filling up with goods from TSA, Whitelines, Salomon, Bonfire, SNO!zone, Animal, Quiksilver and Roxy. Jonny Russell’s even managed to blag some kit to give away from his super fresh new outerwear sponsor Bond.

MC Keith The Teeth has been drafted in to lead the jam sessions on the park features and bantering up the riders for stunts and giggles. Format for the night is pretty simple…get your SHRED on! No comp, no two run finals, just all out trick busting rider jam sessions on each feature.

Wayne Taylor the AKA Snowskate head honcho has confirmed his attendance as chief freestyle coach for the night. Wayne has been killing it for years and has had a huge influence on many riders at Halifax and Cas slopes. He’ll be running sessions on the nursery slope Rookie Park so make sure to grab him and get learning.

The STANDINGsideways Lounge is set to provide some chill out space and hang out for those not riding, with beats from Dom Harington’s mega playlist and FREE hot dogs, hot chocolate and good ol’ Yorkshire Tea to enjoy, all served up by the SS tea ladies…ahhh go on, won’t you have another cup…be rude not to!

Russ Shea of Dopeshots fame will be shooting pics on the night and The Fear Of The Park crew are in full attendance with photographers, filmers and riders all coming to document the event happenings for their website.

So that’s it, it’s on! Got the swag, the tea, the coaching, MC shenanigans, banging sound track, the photog’s, filmer, the riders…err…what?…You mean?…We missed something?…Oh yeah? The special features?!…What, you wanna know about the park?? Oh, alright then…

THE PARK IS LOOKING SICK! Damo and CASvegas boys have been hard at it since Monday and it’s shaping up a treat. Jonny’s “Rhythmic Razzmatazz” just took the title for longest feature ever pushed at Cas. Dom’s “Pipe Of Mild Peril” may be renamed the “Pipe Of Massive Frustration” as riders try get to the end of the slippery Transco pipes. And Stu’s “Down Bar Delight” is going to see some crazy action with a down rail, box and ribbed gas pipe for every trick in the book!

The rest of the park and rookie slope has fun lines a plenty, with hits to learn new tricks and secret trani-finder (not that kind of trani) lines being scoped and added to the list for bonus points!
