Dachstein is one of the closer pre-season glaciers to the former Yugoslavian nations, so it’s common to see the place swarming the self-named Yugo crew in the autumn months. This year was no different, and you can check what went down right here…

QParks, who organise this fine event, had some filmers capture all the action, and we just had to put it on our site. Here’s a little more information on it:

The 10th anniversary edition of the O’Neill Pleasure Jam powered by Opel saw some massive park action! 60 male rider and 20 females took up the challenge and joined on the Dachstein to qualify for the finals. The best 8 girls and the best 18 guys made it to the finals where they will be competing against the invited riders.

Despite the rough winds, the mood was blazingly hot at the Dachstein glacier as the finalists impressed with sick tricks and massive airtime!

Last year’s champion Aimee Fuller confidently defended her title this year, and Eric Beauchemin from the US secured the first place at the men’s category, followed by Werner Stock and Jamie Nicholls.

Looking beyond our trusted glacier in France, we decided this year to check out other places to shred in summer Euroland. With Cees Wille, Kas Lemmens and Wessel van Lierop we hit the road past a few major glaciers, first stop: Dachstein. Here we ran into Marc Swoboda and Schepps Ischepp.

 We can look back to a successful and high-class contest season. The QParks Tour was once again the biggest contest series with 11 QParks Tour stops for freeskiers and snowboarders throughout Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. Now it’s getting serious, the Tour finalists for the big finals are fixed, the party schedule is all set and we offer cheap sleep&ride packages for all shred-fans.

The TOURminators are fixed…

True to the QParks Tour philosophy – everybody can participate and everybody has the chance to qualify for the finals – the best 60 freeskiers as well as the best 60 snowboarders have qualified for the finals after numerous thrilling battles. However, nothing has been decided yet: At the finals, the Tour points get tripled which means all riders have a chance to make it to the top. Therefore, it won’t do for the currently leading riders to sit back and relax at the finals but will have to show their best skills again.

The winner takes it all…

The freeskiers will open the showdown on Saturday, May 5^th, and the snowboarders will battle for the QParks Tour crown on Sunday, May 6^th. All riders could win twice at the weekend: Firstly, the winners of the day will be rewarded with a total of 3.000,- € and sick goodies from Blue Tomato and Horsefeathers. Additionally, adidas eyewear awards 4 sponsorships for the winners of the Rookie and Girls categories including the brand-new id2 pro MG Versin II, designed by Air&Style winner and superstar Marco Grilc himself! Secondly, the champs of the QParks Tour will be crowned, too. Here, the winners can look forward to a prize money of a total 7.000,- € as well as prizes from amplifi, TSG and Neff. In addition to valuable presence in the media, the overall winners of the Rookie and Girls categories will also get Red Bull Mobile Phone including a 1-year free contract.

Following the contest, the official prize giving ceremony will take place on both contest days at the Blue Shop Schladming. Blue Tomato will provide a nice BBQ and fresh drinks to meet your bodily needs – proper sound and exciting side events will be taken care of, too, of course!

All party-addicts are in for a treat, too, this weekend. The party marathon will already kick off on Friday, May 4^th in the Friends Bar in Schladming, starting at 09:00 pm. On Saturday, May 5^th, the party will continue in the Friends Bar with massive sound at the official riders party.

The organisers took the much-appreciated step of making the riders have at least one ‘style’ run in their three allotted slopestyle sideslides, the result being riders could poke that shit out old school style before turning the spinometer up to 11. Aimee Fuller took the top spot for girls showing she’ll be a serious contender on the contest circuit this winter, while Seppe Smits bagged the men’s crown with a predictably stomptastic display.

DRAMA and GLORY! Under brazenly perfect weather conditions, the international freestyle community celebrated the ninth edition of the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam in the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein one of the best ones ever! At an unprecedented level, the snowboard elite was battling for the victory of this Swatch TTR 4 star contest in the perfectly shaped park. After a two day trick fireworks, the Belgian Seppe Smits and Aimee Fuller from Great Britain were smiling down from the top of the podium as winners of the Super Finals. The only 19-year old Matthias Weissenberger caused a sensation in reaching the third rank!
