The Freeride Film Festival is holding its 6th edition this year, with yet another remarkable line-up of films, side-events and guests.

The Winter resort and the town of Saint-Lary Soulan, is extending the red carpet from the December the 9th to the 11th, to welcome the public to an art exhibition, conferences and round tables, concerts and most of all, a good selection of the best freeride films of the year. This year the festival will be premiering Deeper in Xavier De Le Rue’s own hometown, for the Southern French and Spanish public, as well as Standard’s latest release The Storming, and a local production called Asylum 180, featuring amongst others the famous local De Le Rue bros.

After having cleared that up, we’re very happy to give to of our beloved readers/users a pair of tickets to the German premier of Jeremy Jones’ amazing two-years film project Deeper. Of course you could just wait for our next issue to drop that will come with the DVD (issue 117, on sale October 28th), but to be honest, these motion pictures really need to be marveled at on the big screen.

It is incredible to see Jeremy Jones hike for eight hours, only to face one of the gnarliest runs imaginable. A steep and narrow chute, crusty snow, and Jeremy points it nonetheless…

In this week’s Deeper Unplugged, Jeremy lets his excitement get the best of him while riding a line he’s been eyeing from Snowbird’s tram for years. As Jeremy describes at the end of the episode, “It was like a car accident, one of the hardest crashes I’ve had&#xu2;026You get such a huge endorphin high on the way up coupled with adrenaline that you need to reel that in a little bit.”

Deeper Unplugged Episode 12 has a deleted scene from the full movie where Jones is shown around some heavy Utah lines by locals Forrest Shearer and Neil Provo.

If you’re working on a two-year project, sadly heaps of great riding hits the edit room floor as you try to prevent the movie being super long. The Deeper guys had a crew all year in Canada, spent three weeks in the Tetons, and made countless trips to the High Sierra. All of these trips were special but for one reason or another did not make the final cut. One of the last segments to get the axe was Utah. As such, here’s Utah locals Forrest and Neil trading lines in their backyard.

O’Neill announce tour dates across Europe for Jones’ 2-year project, Deeper.

This is Deeper. This is the groundbreaking new movie by Teton Gravity Research (TGR), from Jeremy Jones and friends as he challenges all limits in the mountains without helicopters, lifts or snowmobiles.

This October, the European Deeper Tour from O’Neill, made possible by Jones Snowboards and Onboard European Snowboard Magazine, will bring this experience down from the mountains and into 11 major cities throughout Europe. Legendary freerider, Jeremy Jones will be at every stop, where he will also present his new Jeremy Jones collection from O’Neill. “I am so much looking forward to this European Tour,” said Jeremy. “For two years I have been so engrossed in this project. It’s exciting to finally see the end result and watch and listen to people’s reactions. It has been an incredible two years of work for me and I am so glad we have this opportunity.”

Starting out in the picturesque Belgian town of Gent, the movie will move through cities including Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Zurich before its finale at the Freeze Festival in London.

The movie Deeper documents Jeremy Jones and selected friends including Jonaven Moore, Xavier De La Rue, Ryland Bell, Travis Rice and Forrest Shearer as they pioneer first descents deep in the mountains around the world, pushing their sport to the next level.

“It took my lifetime of experience in the mountains to achieve this goal,” said Jeremy. It is not only Jeremy’s passion and determination to charter unridden terrain, it is also his passion for the environment that comes through. “We were focused on the hard to reach zones that are not accessible by helicopters, ski lifts and snow machines, said Jeremy. “We trekked deep into the mountains, and spent days living in snow caves and tents at the base of some of the true gems that have eluded me for so long…”
