Let’s wrap it up in the medium of words first. Shaun White won the men’s pipe with Kaitlyn Farrington taking the women’s crown; Mark McMorris put down back triple 14s like it was a stock trick to take the Big Air title, while in the wind-affected men’s slopestyle it was McMorris again whose dice roll paid off and in the women’s slope Jamie Anderson showed once more that she’s god mad skills to top the podium once again. Finally, there was a nighttime Nike Streetstyle Jam, in which Eric Beauchemin snagged the win. Peep all the videos – there’s some HEAVY riding in them.

As promised, here’s highlights of yesterday’s action in the Breck stunt ditch. Scotty Lago qualified in the top spot, ahead of Shaun White, Greg Bretz and Louie Vito. We must say, though we understand they only wanted to show the top qualifiers’ runs, it’s criminal that Kazuhiro Kokubo‘s Cab-ins and slash reverts didn’t make the cut.

Here’s how Standard were touting their clip: Take flight to access the peaks of Haines Alaska riding the steepest terrain with the De Le Rue brothers, Xavier and Victor. Nonstop top to bottom action at dare devil speeds, shredding the best conditions that will make you hit rewind.

And it’s pretty darn nuts. You know Xavier will blow minds in situations with consequence, but young Victor really impressed with his hard charging. The other edits are also super strong, so we’d suggest you watch ‘em all and vote for the one that gets you most hyped.

Peep some insane slopestyle action from the likes of Torstein Horgmo, Seb Toutant, Roope Tonteri and Chas Guldemond.

We don’t get to hear too much about it this side of the pond, but the Dew Tour is kind of a big deal. Currently a slew of the planet’s best bib boarders are ensconced in Breckenridge where they’re throwing down the madness that passes for competitive snowboarding these days in slope style, pipe and big air. Hey, the prize money or TV coverage must be good as Shaun’s even competing.

Anyway, men’s Slopestyle Semis went down a couple days ago and the riding was white hot. Torstein Horgmo qualified first by crushing the whole shebang with his über tech hangdog style ahead of dudes like Max Parrot, Chas Guldemond, Roope Tonteri, Mark McMorris and Sven Thorgren to name a few. Yesterday was women’s Slopestyle semis, where Jamie Anderson scooped the highest score, and men’s pipe semis, which saw Scotty Lago qualify ahead of a certain S. White. Interesting. Also interesting was Kazu’s second run, in which mid-way through he pulled a slash to revert and then still managed to boost himself way overhead on the next hit. One of the raddest things we’ve seen at a pipe comp in recent years.

As soon as more videos are released we’ll whack em up. Till then, here’s the PR blurb and results from yesterday:

South Lake Tahoe’s Jamie Anderson’s strong first run put her in the top spot going into tomorrow’s final from women’s slopestyle. Anderson threw down solid tricks in her first run such as a switch back 540, a back 180 and Cab 540 gave her a first run score of a 94.25. Anderson’s first run score of a 94.24 was the highest score out of all the riders for the day. Trailing close behind Jamie Anderson was Germany’s Silvia Mittermueller with a 93.00, and Enni Rukajärvi in third with a 92.00.

Spencer O’Brien continued being damned good and took the women’s Slopestyle while, according to Todd Richards on Twitter, the men’s slopestyle went to the rider who “sucks least” as a mere 4 out of 21 riders landed their runs. Seb Toutant was that guy, and we must say there’s not much sucking going down when you can back up smooth jibs with front and back 10 dubs.

SLOPESTYLE HIGHLIGHTS

In the pipe, Kelly Clark was once again head and shoulders above the competition – check the size of the admittedly dirty front 10 – while Louie Vito pulled a barrage of doubles to edge out Iouri Podladtchikov.

HALFPIPE HIGHLIGHTS

With the second Dew Tour stop coming up in Killington/VT this weekend and kids going crazy about Mark McMorris we thought it a good idea to post this “Snowboard Alli Show” episode of the Burton rider. Canadian Mark McMorris has already made quite an impression near and far. After a slew of contest podiums, a first-ever triple cork and the drive to push progression, Mark is making things happen in the snowboarding world.

The Alli Show documents the lives of athletes changing the face of their sport. In this episode, we hit up the trampolines at Copper for some training with Mark, his brother Craig McMorris and friends, then head to the mountain to ride the park.

The Dew Tour is about to kick off Stateside and Sebastien Toutant just posted a clip of a warm-up lap.
