Take the chance to spend an entire day together with snowboard star Gigi Rüf & friends at the Diedamskopf – this dream will come true for 24 boys and girls on March 19th 2011!

If you always wanted to learn new tricks or simply ask how the daily life of a snowboard pro looks like, then you have the unique opportunity to do so on March 19th, 2011 at the Diedamskopf. Gigi Rüf and two of his friends invite you to this unique shred experience where you can rock the Diedamspark together. Moreover one of the world’s most progressive snowboarders will show you the one or another secret backcountry spot in his home resort.

The names of the two friends that come along are still kept as a secret – only one thing can be revealed: they are both internationally acknowledged pro riders!

Meeting point for this unique day is the Diedamspark at 10am. After the first get-together the action will kick off immediately! The whole morning you will shred together with Gigi and his friends. When the sun is high, it’s time for a break and a delicious lunch together with the pros at the Diedamskopf restaurant. This rest is definitely needed, as at 2pm it’s your turn to show your skills again. During the jam session you can impress the pros with your moves and further win fancy goodies sponsored by Sajas. The tricks of the “3 most impressive riders” as well as the “most impressive girl and rookie” will be rewarded!

For your day with Gigi & friends you can go wild in an extensive freestyle playground – the biggest snowpark of the region! Many high quality jibs, rails and boxes are waiting for you and your friends. You can either run riot along the easy box line or show your kicker skills at the pro line. A relaxed chat with Gigi or his friends in one of the sun chairs at the chill area make the day an unforgettable experience.

Entry conditions

In order to go shred with Gigi Rüf and his friends you should be an advanced snowboarder and have at least some kicker and rail experiences. The disclaimer has to be sent in along with the registration.

On the 27th of February 2010 the first QParks film- and photo shoot took place in the Sajas Diedamspark on a marvellous bluebird day. The crew consisted of QParks Filmer Basti Funk, QParks Photographer Sebi Madlener and snowboarders Benny Deeg, Markus Wilhelmi, Ralf Heeb, and Manuel Holzmann, all Sajas riders and members of the “Good Time Boyz”.

The Diedamspark overview.

After an early arriving in the park area, the boys had some time for warm up runs as the park crew was still working on the elements because of the snowfalls the night before. Some more bully- and hand shape action and the set up looked just awesome- groomed freshly and ready to be ridden! Besides the crew, a lot of other riders enjoyed themselves, either chilling in the Rauch Ice Tea chill area or improving their skills on the numerous elements.

At the beginning the crew mainly attacked the boxes and rails on the right side of the park and during that, more and more locals and vacationers joined the session – good times! After that it was supposed to get serious on the quite huge pro kicker line on the left side, which consists of three kickers in a row, all between 14 and 16 meters.

Unfortunately the wind made it almost impossible to get the right speed and we decided to move on to the last part of the park where the crew established a very playful jib set up. It starts with the well known pyramid (remember Sebi Madlener’s cover shot in the good old 69 magazine (RIP)?) and a nice little hip which guides you directly to three wooden elements. Here the action was on again and marked the end of a very nice Saturday in the Sajas Diedamspark!

Gigi Rüf is without doubt one of the sickest riders out there at the moment and most of us would give an arm, if not more, to get a chance to go riding with him for once instead of just admiring his steeze in front of a screen.

But you probably need both your arms shredding with Gigi and his friends, so all you have to do is write an email to Sabrina.Zuendel@diedamskopf.at and reserve yourself one of 24 spots for Gigi’s special meet & greet at the Sajas Diedamskopf this Saturday, January 23rd 2010.

Not only will he show you around in his home resort, he will also share his skills in the park with you and teach you the one or other trick. And to end this day in a fashionable manner, Gigi will play a little stick-the-trick game with you in the afternoon. For each trick you manage to copy from him you get a letter of the word S.N.O.W, which will be rewarded with fine goodies.
