Now everyone’s getting on the double and triple dip tip, and we’re at the point where rookies like Emil Ulsletten here can film all four doubles in a single park jump session. Madness, though maybe don’t film it on a cellphone from the year 2000 next time…

A full arm cast won’t stop the Paxon from charging Bear’s park.

The Rome team are well-known for being burly, but this clip of Johnnie Paxon is another level of hardcore. If you had a broken wing and were in a full arm cast, you’d be forgiven for taking it easy-style on your first day back on it in a month. Not Paxon. He grabs Bear Mountain’s terrain park by the horns and rides the rodeo bull for all its wrth. Look out for a couple of harsh slams, and the stomped double cork. Respect, Johnnie.

Ok, the name’s not exactly creative and all the talk of ‘coaches’, ‘athletes’ and ‘training’ is all a bit much for us, but there’s no denying that a couple of days of airbag hucking sends riders’ progression levels through the stratosphere. Check it, go ‘wow’, and stroke you chin as you ponder whether this is just a natural stage of shredding’s evolution, or if snowboarding is now just glorified sledge gymnastics.

After days of airbagging, the guys and gals at Snowpark NZ’s Performance Camp sack up and take what they’ve learnt to the kickers proper.

As well as the likes of Seb Toutant, Pat Moore, Wojtek Pawlisiak, Marc Swoboda and Jamie Nicholls throwing down their honed doubles on the booter, there’s also a montage of the boy Nicholls owning the jib setup. Check them bang bangs.

After exploding himself at the Air&Style last year, Seb Toots healed up quick and pulled together this short clip with his O’Neill TM Max Henault earlier this year, where he shows the dictionary definition of ‘Epic Park Riding’.

High-octane shredding from Mont St Sauveur, Canada.

16-year old Canuck Marc McMorris walked away with the title, his double corks and solid jibbing solid enough to surpass the killer riding from Seb Toutant and Eric Willett, while Megan Ginter took the women’s title with a dope back 7 to 50-50-front 180 off the jib section. The Ride Shakedown is well-know as a shred career launch pad, so you can be sure you’ll be hearing more from these guys: as you’ll see from the movie, they got the skills for sure.
