The Northwave Drake CAMP OUT Tour ended its busy schedule last friday. Two weeks of intense travelling, riding and activities to spread around Northwave – Drake support for snowboarding. It really was a success. Here below an overview of the tour from the words of NICK VISCONTI. Attached some pictures. “The Drake Northwave European “Camp Out” tour is gearing down from the Autobahn’s fast lane to the road for recovery. I literally don’t even know how to describe in detail the tour, partly due to the fact that if I did your email inbox would not be able to receive the Gb size of the text I would have to send. The tour schedule has been little less than literally insane. Nothwave/Drake’s “Camp Out” Tour was a euro hallucinogen trip! The drug reference was nothing less than a metaphor to describe the excess of productivity. We may all have a screw loose for attempting and succeeding in this tour, but our binding screws were tight and we left the European Alpine front more destroyed than WW2 . All this being said, it has been a truly incredible experience. We have been constantly in motion pinballing between countries, retailers, photo shoots, magazine meetings (including Rolling Stones,) and glacial snowboarding. Specifically, we snowboarded in Hintertux, Saas-Fee, Zermatt, and Les2Alpes.; we visited key retailers in Montebelluna, Milan, Munich, Innsbruck, Grenoble, and Saas-Fee; and we linked with Onboard Snowboard Magazine, Act Snowboard Magazine, Sequence Snowboard Magazine, European Snowboarder Magazine, and briefly with Pleasure Snowboard Magazine. When reflecting over the past two weeks, I am blinded with a flabbergast that glazes my eyes with awe… and delirium. I am filled with a sense of overwhelming gratitude and satisfaction that we have made more than the most of the tour. Stay tuned with Northwave/Drake for tour videos, photos and text via social media platforms, websites and the 13/14 catalog. Furthermore, our trek will be highlighted with the above magazines and marqueed in OnBoard Snowboard Magazine as a 10-page editorial print piece releasing soon! I have never been more physically stretched from lack of sleep, over-socialization, and snowboarding, but am glad because it revealed the limits of how we can push physically, mentally and spiritually and stay healthy. Now reflecting from a friends home in Geneva, Switzerland I am at a loss for words to describe the blessings of this trip. I am a sponge for knowledge, relationships and experiences; because of this I am forever grateful after many trips to Europe to no longer be a tourist or traveler, but a distant relative that visits home frequently. Investing into memories, not materials.
