You might remember Dylan Thompson’s ender in Finger on da Trigger’s Familia 2 movie, where he gaps a gnarly crevasse in Mt Hood. Here’s the making of video. Quite impressive.

In late August we took last chair of the day up to the top of hood with photographer Darcy Bacha and pro snowboarder Dylan Thompson. They had been scoping the crevasses for the last couple weeks, and they found one that looked really good to shoot. We have never really been too nervous when people hit stuff, but this shoot was an exception. This was by far the most nervous we have been for someone to hit a feature. We documented everything leading up to the jump, showing the building process, and the photographers process.

MFM’s still a boss and Johnnie Paxson… the kid’s one of the dwindling cadre of riders that can hold it down in the city as well as in the BC. Check their parts from the banging FODT movie, Famila 2. Booom!

Paxson’s so tasty on his stunt stick he was the first rider Gigi Rüf recruited to his new brand, Slash Snowboards. His half backflip to nose press to half backflip out is nuts, but there’s way more about this part than that. And as for Mark Frank Montoya… the man’s still got one of the finest ollies in the game. FODT’s Familia 2 is one bang heavy bit of shred porn. Dylan Thompson has the 2 song ender, so that should be all the info you need to want to watch this now…

In the words of FODT’s Cole Taylor, “Dylan is slowly gaining momentum as one of the best urban riders in snowboarding and this part should place him in those rankings.” He’s right. He’s damned good that boy.

Rumour has it that Familia 2, the latest cinematographic work from FODT Productions, is the snowboard movie of the year. As part of their filming season, the crew went to Estonia (with our trusted American correspondent T.Bird being part of it). Here’s a nice edit showing the best of their Eastern European adventure.

Last year’s movie from FODT was pretty killer and, to be honest, somewhat of an eye-opener. We’d always got the impression that these guys were just über-gangsta (with names like Finger On Da Trigger and Technine it’s easy to see why), but while the movie focussed heavily on the crew’s affliction for hitting up sketchy, graffiti covered spots there was also enough variety in the riding to make it appeal to those not of the street-banging frat. The filming and editing were both slick, the soundtrack killer (and not all hip-hop), and the urban riding itself was enough to make even the most die-hard bearded Alp-o-phile grunt in grudging admiration.

Now they’re back with the heavy, heavy teaser for Familia 2. It is long and full of bangers. If this is just the teaser, then we’re betting the full flick will be off the hook. We’ve been hooked.
