In episode 9 of Jeremy Jones’ Further Unplugged, the Teton Gravity Research crew meets up with Mitch Toelderer and Bibi Pekarek in Innsbruck, Austria, to splitboard deep into the Karwendel Range, a place that sees little winter traffic. After skinning nearly 15 miles, they set up base camp and deal with one of the coldest winters in 50 years to find some rippable lines. One of the trips Jeremy Jones embarked upon for his forthcoming epic, Further, was to the remote Arctic island of Svalbård. As well as having some pretty epic-looking mountains it’s also a wild place with an abundance of hazards, not least of which is getting eaten by a polar bear. On a down day, the crew prank the rookie cameraman who’d set off the bear fence accidentally already into thinking that it was dinner time and he was the main course.

Wait till he cuts himself out of his tent and bolts. Epic. But remember, don’t cry wolf.

No matter how good you are, bad things can happen. In this episode of Further Unplugged, Jeremy Jones, Xavier De Le Rue and Jimmy Chin embark on a mission to ride The Sliver couloir in Grand Teton National Park. After the crew successfully rides the line, Jimmy gets caught in an avalanche. Dragged over 2,000 feet, Jimmy miraculously survives and learns from this frightening experience.

The crew plans things out at Jimmy’s house near the Tetons themselves and then they go into the park for a recon mission to get some beta on the area. Rarely do we post a clip without any actual snowboarding in it. But for some reason, this is quite entertaining and makes you actually want to watch the movie. Jeremy, Terje, and our man T-Bird on their way to the steeps of Svalbard/Norway.

In episode 2 of Further Unplugged, Jeremy Jones takes his crew to the island of Svalbard in Norway, in the Arctic Circle. In the town of Longyearbyen, they pack for their trip and meet up with snowboarder Terje Haakonsen. It takes three days to pack a week’s worth of food and gear onto snowmachines, which they then ride 180 kilometers north. What they anticipated to be a relatively manageable commute to camp turns into a 30-hour ordeal as multiple sleds get stuck in the melting ice. But the terrain Jeremy discovers makes the trip worth it.

In the first episode of the Unplugged clips accompanying Jeremy Jones’ new project Further, he travels to Japan with Josh Dirksen and Forrest Shearer.

With the help of Japanese mountain guide “Yeti” Dave, the group explores the Japanese Alps on splitboards and scores deep powder turns. But the true adventure begins when a blizzard moves in and the crew must hunker down in a high alpine refuge… Luckily we can follow this from our cosy, comfy work chairs, beds or sofas, experiencing some second-hand near deaths…
