The 2011 edition off Gothenburg Rail Battle was a huge success with a frothing crowd that was super stoked to see the riders do their thing. Marc Swoboda won the full shebang, with Kalle Ohlson, Denis Leontyev and Marc taking honours on individual obstacles. Peep the pics and a short vid.

In total 27 riders were invited to the main event who were divided into two groups for the qualifiers. From the qualification groups 5 from each group went through to the final.

TTR 3-STAR GOTHENBURG RAIL BATTLE 2010

The first edition of TTR 3-star event Gotheburg Rail Battle is now over and done! After months of preparations it was finally time to run the event and the weekend kicked off with a great party wich included the premiere of Pirate productions new movie Hooked.

Then on Saturday alot of tired faces showed up at 2pm to check out the arena and the general comment was that the arena looked sick!

At 3pm when the qualification started the event area was already crowded and the 16 riders started the 1 hour battle and only 5 riders would pass on to the evening finals.
In the end it was Gerben Verweij (NED), Noa Gadelius (SWE), Cees Wille (NED), Johan Karlsson (SWE) and Joel Andersson (SWE) who impressed the judges the most and advanced to the finals.

At 6pm it was time for the riders to start fighting for the money and the TTR points and a couple of thousands of people had gathered to see their favorite Snowboarders throw down sick railtricks! DJ Sid was behind the wheels of steels and created a great atmosphere! The riders pushed themselves to the max and we saw tricks like Cab 360 switch nose press cab 360 out, cab 270 hardway pretzel out and bs 180 switch nosepress on the down flat down rail. In the end it was following riders that impressed the judges the most and walked away with the money and TTR points:

There was also a Best trick contest on each rail and the winners was Halldor Helgasson with a Cab 360 switch nose press cab 360 out on the downrail and Noa Gadelius with a gap bs 270 on the down flat down rail. Both guys were awarded 1000 USD each for the tricks.

After the prizegiving ceremony it was time for Hip Hop Legends Looptroop to enter the stage in front of 1500 crazy fans. Looptroop put on a full on 1hrs set with a lot of energy on stage! After the concert it was time for the official afterparty held at Valand Nightclub and the placed was packed with more than 1000 party animals. As this wasn ́t enough there was a secret concert with Looptroop at the nightclub around 1.30am and the whole place went completely mad!!

After this great weekend the event will for sure be back next year! Stay tuned!

This Saturday, Gothenburg will welcome some of the heaviest hammer droppers to the only downtown rail event on this year’s TTR World Tour. The riders at this 3-Star contest will throw down on a 25m long, 10m wide and 12m high steel monster and battle it out for a slice of the 10,000 USD prize purse.

With cats like Halldor Helgason, Erik Botner, Wojtek Pawlusiak, Hans Åhlund, Gulli Gudmundsson, Teo Konttinen, Nils Arvidsson and Marc Swoboda on the invite list, you can be sure your you’ll be treated to the maddest metal tech around, and if you’re not in or around Gothenburg you can take in all the tap dancing from the comfort of your couch.

The action kicks off at 18:00 local time, so come back then and enjoy the show.

Only a week to go before we kickstart the first edition of TTR 3-star Gothenburg Rail Battle in Sweden on 30 October 2010. The event is the only rail event on the TTR tour and will be held in downtown Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast.

The event area will be occupied the coming week with constructor workers that build the 25m long, 10m wide and 12m high steel monster that the riders will use as a Battlefield . The rail soldiers will fight for 10.000 USD and a bunch of TTR points…

On the non riding part of the event there will be great parties including both the Pirate Production premiere on the opening party on Friday and the Nitro Snowboards premiere on the afterparty on Saturday. There will also be a full on Brand village incl a mini railarena open to ride for everyone during the day and brands like Volcom, DC, Etnies, EFX, among others will showcase their latest products, do giveaways etc. And of course our main partner Monster Energy will be on site in full force sampling pure energy!

On top of this the event will be headlined by Swedish Hip Hop legends LOOPTROOP ROCKERS wich will put on a full on Live set direct after the finals on a stage next to the railarena.
