The latest issue of Onboard is in bricks and mortar stores in the real world.

The latest issue of Onboard is in bricks and mortar stores in the real world.

Ok, so the prophet Steve Jobs came down from his lofty mount and, lo, he hath brought a tablet. You gonna rip pages out of it and stick ‘em on your walls though? What if you have a reaaaally long dump. In a cabin. Without power. Our innovative new mag features 164 pages of multitouch interface, boasts a battery life of over a thousand years and is fully DRM free so you can share your shred with your pikey mate.

Aside from being the iPad killer, here’s what’s inside when you swipe to unlock…

Danny Kass Interview

Danny is a man of contradictions: Jersey boy yet mountain fiend, core to the pip but as business savvy as a Wall Street bear and an Olymian to boot and high profile yet still the hardest rider to reach on the planet. Onboard put Snowboardermag’s T. Bird, a man with a good knowledge of the lay of the land in the US, on the trail of the ellusive Danny Kass.

Franck Moissonnier Profile

Franck Moissonnier has managed to balance both progressive riding with an interest in the business side of the shred. Even now, in his early thirties, he retains a rack of sponsors and still adds to his already full bag of tricks, last year dialling the double cork – the zeitgeist of the season. He has also recently become the Team Manager of the French Nike 6.0 team; a nice desk job within the industry that not only allows him to further his own riding but also show the next generation of riders exactly how it’s done…

Olympics Preview

Snowboarding and the Olympics have always been a contentious and tempestuous pairing; from Terje’s refusal to get involved with an organization that he referred to as “ski Nazis” and the wearing of national uniforms to the IOC’s delivery of the governership of snowboarding to the FIS and not the ISF, but there’s no denying February 17 will be kind of a big deal. We look at the history, and pick the riders’ brains as to who they think will be topping the podium.

North to the Future

That’s the Alaska State motto. Obscure and intriguing. That’s the place. It’s more than a place. It’s wild and untamed, a corner of the earth, where nature still dominates. It’s an ideal. Liam Gallager and a host of rippers who have experienced Alaska first hand take you on a journey North to the snowboarder’s Nirvana, AK.

Spot Check – Meribel

Part of the 3 Vallées, the winter resort of Méribel lies at the heart of one of the largest winter sports playgrounds in the world. With its two snowboard parks, groomed slopes and expansive freeride terrain, Méribel has a huge amount to offer. We take a look around the resort with local Thomas Gérin.

Plus there’s all the regulars you’ve come to expect, free gear up for grabs, stonking photography
