The latest instalment of Rome’s project (whereby they drop a short movie each month for a whole year) is live and features hammers from Quebec and Ottowa with urban specialists like LNP, Toni Kerkelä and Will Lavigne getthing it done…

Apropos of nothing, this is some great pow shredding rolled into one epic clip. We haven’t really paid much attention to the ‘Of Life & Love‘ project yet, but if everything is as good as this – bring it on!

Rome are embarking on a 12-month-long odyssey of shredding and filmmaking this year. Having started their shooting schedule in November 2012, they’ll be dropping a full edit of each month’s action from their team of shreds, each month. And this is the November cut. And it is booming. A free full snowboard movie all the way from Colorado, a place that might or might not get loads of snow each winter. Apart from some upcoming (read: completely unkown) riders, Mother Falcon Ship also features people like Forest Bailey, Jake Kuzyk, and Jed Anderson. A good way to waste 30 perfectly good minutes of your time.

Jonah Owen hasn’t wasted any time since his addition to the Rome pro team. He’s been across the country filming for the new 12-Months project, won some cash after throwing down at a rail jam in Japan, and has visited resorts across the country for their opening days.

Now it’s time to get to know the newest member of the team. For two hours this Friday, November 30th, Jonah will be handed the keys to the Rome Facebook Page to answer any questions you’ve got for him. Has he ever had to block someone on Instagram? How close to the 10% rule did you come with that 10 grand from HDHR? What are your thoughts on current foreign policy? Where’s one place you’ve always wanted to snowboard? These are just some sample questions you could potentially copy and paste, but we encourage you to think of your own.

Since we’re not above bribery, one lucky random commenter will be selected to win a brand new 2013 Butterknife.

Once again, Burton flew in some of snowboarding’s sickest rail shredders to throw down hammers at the Tokyo Rail days. Forest Bailey won, bumping out last year’s winner, Jamie Nicholls, in an intense final. Check the highlights of the whole damn thing… 

A huge crowd turned out despite the rain, and the riders tackled the impressive jib setup with increasing ferocity through the initial jam session all the way through to the finals. The names on the list were heavy – Forest Bailey, Jonah Owen, Jamie Nicholls, Ethan Deiss, Zak Hale, Marc Swoboda, Dylan Alito, Ludwig Lejkner, Mark Sollors… the riding was insane as expected and with so many jib bosses it was never going to be easy to judge. In an effort to put the judging out of question, Burton jetted in legendary freestyler Jeremy Jones to be involved in the scoring. When all was said and done, by showing consistent, technical riding all night long, Forest Bailey was awarded the $15,000 first place prize, followed closely by Jamie Nicholls and recent Rome pro, Jonah Owen.

Jonah had no board sponsor for a season, but now he does. A good job, too, cause this kid frickin’ RIPS!

During a season without a board sponsor, Jonah Owen spent last year on his own schedule completely killing it. He took to the streets to stack footy and quite possibly take the “hardest-working snowboarder” award in 2012. Check out what he’s been up to. Welcome to the Rome SDS Pro Team Jonah Owen!
