Spring Session 2013 At The Stubai Zoo

The shapers up at the Stubai glacier are hard at work mixing their setup around ready for the everyone’s favourite slushy month of the season. They’ve even got DC throwing in €1500 for a session on 20-21 April, and a few sausages on the barbecue too. Check out exactly what they’ve got planned below.

Spring Session 2013 – its getting spring at the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo

From 08 April to 20 May 2013 it’s time again– the Spring Sessions at the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo stand
for a highclass spring season. The snowpark on Stubai Glacier has got a complete revision in order to
make the setup even more fun and diversified. The event highlight with the promising name „DC Happy
Hitster Hangout“ demands a lot creativity of the participants on 20 and 21 April 2013.
Spring Sessions from 08 April to 20 May 2013 on the Stubai Glacier – for a period of six weeks all snow lovers
are able to stretch their shred season in a top park in Austria’s biggest glacier ski resort.

The large and versatile MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo setup has changed a lot. The biggest innovation is the shift of the whole medium line to the other side of the Gaisskarferner t-bar where the easy line was already situated in the last years. With two kickers in line, diverse challenging rails and boxes the pro features stay at the same place. Furthermore there are some surprising obstacles one can find at the Stubai Zoo. All lines are daily shaped by a three-headed team. Thanks to the south facing of the whole park area smooth landings are guaranteed all day long.

DC Happy Hitster Hangout On 20 and 21 April 2013 a new spring event highlight in cooperation with DC Shoes takes place. On Saturday all participants face a funny contest format – the park is extended with a range of different takeoffs which allow all hitsters to shred creative runs. The snowboarder who finds the best hits in the park and convinces the other riders wins the biggest part of the € 1,500 prize money. Drinks and barbecue are for free. Those who don´t participate at the session are able to check out beforehand next season’s snowboard hardware of selected brands, learn new tricks at girls coaching camp, simply hang loose at the park base or show off their dance skills at the Dorfpub after party in Neustift. What a weekend!

Wir Schanzen is back!

The winter season is initiated and the Wir Schanzen also got the ball rolling. A lot has been going
on – there are new events, a good deal of price money and most diverse contest formats. On 24
November 2012 the starting shot is given at the Stubai Jam in the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo /
Stubai Glacier.

Call it a relaunch! The Wir Schanzen offers snowboarders an attractive platform to compete with like-
minded shred heads and showcase their skills to the public. In its ninth season the contest tour arrays
itself in a new outfit and emphasizes the features in the case of fresh ideas.

Stubai Jam means Slopestyle Jam Session
First innovation – with the Stubai Jam on Stubai Glacier the tour starts earlier than ever before into the
season on 24 November 2012. The TTR 2 star slopestyle contest is held in the most-loved jam session
format. On diverse jibs it gets right to the point but the main focus concentrates on the kicker line of the
Moreboards Stubai Zoo. Riders who snatch a podium finish can be glad about a lot of price money – there
is a total of 1.000 euros as well as further prices of Ride Snowboards to win.

Sajas Park Games, The 5ive Barbecue & Co.
For the slopestyle contest „Sajas Park Games“ the tour moves to the Nike Snowpark Montafon on 12
January 2013. In new terrain you find a versatile snowpark with long lines and diverse obstacles which
make hearts leap for joy. On 16 February 2013 „The 5ive Barbecue“ presents itself in a completely new
light – shred on a sick rail setup till all hours! One more surprise event with an individual format will be
announced in the next time.

Official junior tour
This year, the Wir Schanzen contests are held in the category snowboard as well as freeski for men,
women, rookies U15 (year 1998, 1999, 2000) and kids U12 (year 2001 and younger). A particular kids line
is shaped for the quite young riders at all events. With its goal to promote talent the Wir Schanzen is
supported by the Snowboard Federation Germany. In close cooperation a special kids day with coaching,
photo shooting and more is held each Sunday after an event. We care for the kids!

In the context of the tour there are 5.000 euros to win –not to forget quality material prices from the sponsors and
requested World Snowboard Tour ranking points – because after an one year break all tour stops are registered
as TTR 2 star events once again. Of course, in the well-known manner of Wir Schanzen contests the relaxed
atmosphere always comes first. The participation fee amounts to 10 euros and for another 10 euros you can buy
a lift ticket for a greatly reduced price. Registrations can only be made on the ground.

MOREBOARDS Stubai Premiere 2012 – FULL RECAP VIDEO

With the MOREBOARDS Stubai Premiere, the snowpark on Stubai Glacier in Tyrol, Austria, opened the doors for another winter season from October 19th to 21st 2012. With bluebird and balmy temperatures, everyone had a blast shredding, testing and celebrating all weekend long. Good times!

From October 19th to 21st 2012, three days of action went down on Stubai Glacier in Tyrol, Austria. Beside the brand-new hardware out of the Brandsaloon, all kinds of sun protection were at a premium this weekend. No wonder with three days of sunny skies and decent temperatures!

All three days, the brandsaloon at the Eisgrat mountain station was full to bursting and everyone was in good spirits, testing the hardware of 40 brands for free, sunbathing and chatting with friends or shredding the staircase in the DC Jib Garden. German rider Chris Boehnke took first place on the podium of the DC Jib Garden Battle on Sunday, followed by the two Slovenes Andrej Marinic and Nejc Ferjan in second and third place.

On Saturday, the Volcom Stubai Snakepit took place with thirty competing pro and amateur riders. Elias Elhardt (GER), Peter König (AUT), Denis Leontyev (RUS) and Jesse Augustinus (NED) obviously had fun on the special setup consisting of a banked slalom followed by a jib feature. Finally it was Marc Swoboda (AUT), who convinced the judges with his combination of a race-fitting slalom technique and a perfect switch backside lipslide on the down rail. Frenchman Arthur Longo became second and previous year´s winner Simon Pircher (AUT) climbed the podium in third place.

Apart from that, it has been kind of intense at MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo all weekend long. Salomon pro rider Chris Grenier came travelling from the United States to shred the park together with the kids. A vast number of riders attended the Skullcandy Trick Sessions or the Billabong Surpize Jam and raked in some cash and prizes. It was great to see that everyone was having a good time back on snow again.

What may not be missing on a weekend like this? Exactly, the parties! The party weekend started with the Forum Warm-Up Party on Friday night. Two nights with acts like the Mando Diao DJ Team, Nasty Mondays or the Drunken Masters, were enough reason to celebrate every night until early morning. Many thanks at this point to Four Seasons Travel, who have been shuttling all artists for the shows. In the light of recent happenings, our thoughts are with our friends from Forum Snowboards. The Warm-Up Party with „#Forum“ video premiere was the shit – we live Forum forever!

Snowbroader Video Weekend at Stubai Zoo

For everybody who is already sick of singing birds, green grass and blooming meadows the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo is the place to be. Until the end of May you will have the chance to shorten the summer break for you and your snowboard during the Spring Sessions. “The last shred” is the motto on the Snowbroader Video Weekend on May 23th and 24th where you can put your tricks on video not only in warm sunshine, but also in bright spotlight.

As most of the ski fields have already closed, the season is running at its very high at the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo on the Stubai Glacier. On the sunny side of the mountain, the snowpark with bright sun, long days and soft snow is the perfect location for extensive jib- and kickersessions. Rails, boxes and the three kickers in line with different take-offs are shaped perfectly every day and provide a lot of variety and a no-boredom-guarantee.

There is a special goody for all filmstars and aspirants on May 23th and 24th. You can be the star of a snowboard video production. Snowbroader.eu will record your action with our three cams. Pack out your best tricks and become rider in this clip which will be published on all kinds of platforms.

SnowBroader Spring Tour – Third Stop – Stubai & Stubaizoo

Sunny mountain pastures, verdant woods, thunderous waterfalls pouring into clear mountain lakes changed Stubaital vally. But still between 1,750 and 3,210 meters above sea level, 16 cableways and lifts as well as 90 km of downhill runs await your pleasure. Nevertheless action in the Moreboards Stubai Zoo is still guaranteed – also the Snowpark with its kickerline and jib-obstacles is in top-shape.

With the Moreboards Stubai Zoo the Stubai Glacier has still a massive snowpark for all you shred heads. And it will be opened till end of May! The new glacierpark is one of the largest parks around Innsbruck. The location of the park ensures sunshine till the afternoon and is the perfect place for the three thrilling lines.

On Saturday there was a Barbecue Session going on. Everything was there. Good food, motivated riders, perfect set-up. And yes, we said everything. So that also includes snow, fog, wind and some sunshine we also got. But anyway many snow junkies had a lot of fun in the park. Despite that in some moments you could’t see your friend riding infront of you. Anyhow, the Stubai Zoo crew decided for easy session on down-curved and A-frame-box. Because the weather did not contribute for bigger motivation, cool prizes did all the work instead of. Headphones, hoodies and T-shirts were flying croos the air for best perfomance on before mentioned obstacles. After the session all were leaving the mountain with smile on the face. Some because of new stuff in their back pack, others because of good meal, but all had one reason in common – a Good Vibe…

I almost forgot. Stubai Zoo park. There are three lines that you can take. The kickerline with various take-offs, after kickers a A-frame and a Lollypop are on, followed with a Down rail and Jibtone. The second line offers Rollers where beginners can try out their first jumps. And the third line consists of Jib-obstacles with new Pyrabox. With the Moreboards Stubai Zoo the Stubai Glacier has a massive snowpark for all you shred heads. The new glacierpark is one of the largest parks around Innsbruck (only 30 km away). The location of the park ensures sunshine till the afternoon and is the perfect place for the three thrilling lines, which are made with Schneestern wisdom and creativeness.

The kickerline with various take-offs, after kickers are a A-frame and a Lollypop, followed with a Down rail and Jibtone. The second line offers Rollers where beginners can try out their first jumps. And the third line consists of Jib-obstacles with new Pyrabox.

The snowpark Stubai Zoo is opened from end of October to May (depending on snowconditions).

100 riders from six countries joined the Stubai Jam as the third stop of the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen on March 13th to ring in the Spring Sessions at the Moreboards Stubai Zoo. A mixture of sun, wind, perfect setup, relaxed atmosphere and not to forget the snowboard and ski action made a brilliant day on the Stubai Glacier.

Already at the accreditation in the morning there was a big run on the starting tickets. Because of the many people willing to join the contest the starting field of 80 riders was extended to 100. As the riders had arrived at the Moreboards Stubai Zoo, a perfectly shaped setup waited for them with three kickers in line, rails, boxes and other jib obstacles.

In the beginning strong wind made it impossible to open the kickerline. The safety of the riders goes first and so the girls´ and kids´ contest took place on the jib-line. Nevertheless the boys and girls really stepped on it and showed a high level. Especially the ski kids´ category was highly competitive. In the end it was Lucas Mangold (GER) to stand on top of the podium. In the category of snowboard kids Andre Höflich (GER) had a smile all over his face. The freeski girl Sabrina Cakmakli (GER) and the snowboard girl Diana Sadlowski (POL) triumphed.

Just in time for the Men´s contest the wind died away and the kickerline was ready for top class ski and snowboard tricks. The spectators could watch an extremely high riding level and the judges had the most difficult jobs of all on this day. In the end Yannic Lerjen (CH) could convince the judges and could celebrate his victory in the ski category. Patrick Wörle (AUT) showed the best style and the coolest tricks in the snowboard category and could win the contest.

But the riders were nowhere near tired and showed challenging tricks on the Transfer Kicker at the Red Bull Best Trick Session. With his Switch 720 Japan Mike Hauser (AUT) could take home the Red Bull IPod Touch. The snowboarder Christoph Weberhofer (AUT) is becoming a specialist in Red Bull Trick Sessions and after his victories at the first two tour stops he could also win this session on the Stubai Glacier.

The riders and spectators enjoyed a fantastic day in relaxed atmosphere, with cool sound and tasty hamburgers. In the afternoon the glacier parking area counted 100 smiling faces minimum who met again in the evening to celebrate the legendary Stubai Jam Afterparty at the Blue Chip in Innsbruck. The beats of DJ Em and the Swiss Clast Sound made the people madly enthusiastic and so they danced, drank and partied all the night long. A decent icing on the cake of the Stubai Jam!

MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo kick-starts Springtime – Spring Sessions 2010

On March 13th the Stubai Jam is the official kick-off for the Spring Sessions. The Slopestyle Contest on the Stubai Glacier will again create furore and is the ideal start into the most beautiful time of the year: At the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo you can shred hell for leather until the end of May.

Finally it is spring again! Sun, firn and pleasant temperatures – what more could one desire? There is plenty of snow on the Stubai Glacier, but the power of the sun already shows its impact: You can learn new tricks on soft landings, get the shape of your goggle smoothly burnt into your face and your T-Shirt flaps in the warm wind. Springtime is just around the corner and so is the beginning of the snowpark season on the Stubai Glacier. Until the end of May the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo not only offers three kickers in line, but also countless jib obstacles. Everything is ready for a good session with your best friends and much action in the snowpark. The snow conditions on the Stubai Glacier are ideal until June – and it´s only 45 minutes from Innsbruck!

The Stubai Jam as the third stopp of the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen will take place on March 13th 2010. Despite the snowfalls of the past weeks spring fever settles amongst the riders. Fun at riding is definitely the focus of this contest and at the afterparty in the evening at the Blue Chip in Innsbruck the Swiss Clastsound will put the heat on everybody.

In cooperation with MOREBOARDS you can check out next season´s snowboards of Lib Tech, Gnu and Roxy on the March 21st on the Stubai Glacier. The material test is free of charge and a good possibility to get a first overview of the latest hardware trends.

From April 9th to 10th the Shred Sessions will stop over at the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo. Under the patronage of Nicola Thost all interested Snowboarders are invited to join this Coaching Camp. The participants will be divided into small groups to be able to learn new tricks and spend a great time with and under the guidance of skilled riders such as Quiksilver Pro Felix Georgii. You can get two nights accommodation, lift ticket, lunch package, coaching as well as a photo- and videosession for EUR 159.00.

There is no spring without an extensive Barbecue! Therefore steaks, sausages and other delicacies will wait on the Barbecue for you – two days through on April 24th and 25th. Cool sound at the parkbase and goodie-for-trick sessions will complete the relaxed days at the Zoo.

At the Snowbroader Video Weekend from May 08th to 09th a snowboard movie will be produced. All interested riders meet on Saturday morning to film their own “parts” in the movie together with the snowbroader.eu crew.
