Another great short clip from the big B. Heli boarding in NZ. Woo-hoo!

The terrain in New Zealand is pretty wild and sometimes the only way to reach that wild terrain is with a helicopter. It’s a good thing Johnathon McHeli invented the helicopter in 1895 so that Jussi Oksanen, Mikkel Bang, and Danny Davis could do some trippy slow-motion tricks like these ones here.

Norwegians in New Zealand

One Last Slow Dance In New Zealand

The season is really kicking off down under with two edits straight from New Zealand’s famous Snow Park NZ dropping:

Diaries Downunder 2011 Episode 1

It begins! Episode 1 for 2011 we pick up Australian shredder Jye Kearney from Bondi Beach in Sydney and catch a 3 hour Air New Zealand direct flight to Queenstown; straight into a couple of cheeky afternoon laps at snowpark and a bit of night riding followed by one hectic night out at the Queenstown Winter Festival. The next day we shoot some Clay Pigeons with NZ comedian Jeremy Elwood and wrap things up by throwing Jye in the Lake!

We received yet another clip from our Southern Hemisphere counterparts over at aussiesnowboard.com: Local rider and rail connoisseur Jye Kearney kicks off the Australian 2011 season of SNOW DICE at Thredbo, NSW. Quote: “The kid is GOOD!” We take a guess here and say there’ll be more Snow Dice episodes to come.

Torgeir Berre Update

Two weeks ago we reported that Norwegian rider Torgeir Berre sustained a severe back injury while filming in New Zealand. Since then he underwent surgery to stabilise his spine, which went well, and remains in hospital in New Zealand. Process Films went to visit him in Christchurch, and posted a thorough update on his condition.

Our best wishes go out to you, buddy! Get well soon!

In the meantime you might want to join the “I ride for Berre” campaign, started by some of his fellow riders!

Torgeir Berre Sustains Back Injury

Through the Norwegian website tacky.no we just learnt that yesterday Norwegian shred Torgeir Berre broke his back while riding a massive step-up kicker in Treble Cone, New Zealand. According to tacky.no his spine is seriously injured. Torgeir was rushed to the hospital and is expected to have spinal surgery performed on him soon. From what we know he was filming for the new Process movie. Apparently, Mikkel Bang also suffered minor injuries hitting that same kicker.

Get well soon, Torgeir! We wish you all the best! Our thoughts are with you and your family!

Another Week in Snowboarding

After a weekend of boozing and a shortened work week (the joys of Baviarian bank holidays) we suddenly realised it is already Friday and time for our third installment of This Week in Snowboarding. See here and there for the first two posts. So once again here are the, erm, highlights from this week’s snowboarding, drawn from our own humble site the wilds of the internet.

Vomit is the new neon.

SATURDAY/SUNDAY

Les2Alpes is THE place for summer camps. Or is it Blackcomb? Or New Zealand? It is definitely not Den Haag, as their indoor slope is bankrupt again. Generally, there’s a lot to do on weekends. Water sliding, for example. By the way, Shaun’s fans are scary.

MONDAY

Blaze is a cool name. The Forum Holy Moly has made a self-proclaimed angry man even angrier. A kiss mark will adorn the new TTR trophy. Skateboards are more dangerous than snowboards (or parcours). And then, there’s Harry.

TUESDAY

The Saturday Night Ride Teaser is a banger. The Homies Crew rip up Superpark. The Visual Collective‘s new teaser is out. The Kaunertal is always good for some jib action. A new film is actually called Mortal Wombat.

Collecting TTR points: Style necessary.

WEDNESDAY

Germans don’t like Greek people anymore and might stay at home over summer and collect TTR points. In California, it might become a crime not to wear a helmet. And here’s a recipe for how to fuck up your season.

THURSDAY

Straight outta Japan, Heart Films release a pow-heavy teaser. The Finns have done their homework, too. Shaun White wants to get into Hollywood. Our weekly posts get recycled, and maybe there’s too many contests.

FRIDAY

Nikita Chickita is so much fun, Isenseven’s new teaser is even more fun, and vomit is the new neon. Bon weekend, bitches!

Summer time: Why go snowboarding when you can just go, ahem, boarding?
