So it is absolutely normal for the superstars of today to hand over the reins to the shredders of tomorrow at safe and secure intervals, thereby ensuring that snowboarding not only stays alive, but also continuously further develops accordingly. We can now welcome three ballsy and talented young guys with the stuff to continue this legacy right away at Planet Sports. With 16-year-old Linus Birkendahl from Starnberg (Germany), considered Germany‘s no. 1 youngblood boarder and top hope for the 2014 Olympics, 19-year-old Moritz Neuhäussler from Miesbach (Germany), who everyone is talking about as a jib specialist on all rails and boxes, and 14-year-old Tim-Kevin Ravnjak from Velenje (Slovenia), who will be taken under the wings of none other than our team member and Burton Pro, Marko Grilc, and is already seen as the next big name in the game, we have laid an important foundation stone for the brand new Planet Sports Snow Rookie Team, which promotes young talent and will also secure the sport’s development for the next 30 years. To this end our experienced Pro Team with icons such as Eero Ettala, Torstein Horgmo or Silli Mittermüller, for example, will guide the “next generation”, and not only accompany it with tricks and the like, but will also be on hand for advice and actions in business matters. With professional support like this, pretty much nothing can go wrong, and there’ll be plenty to hear from Linus, Moritz, Tim-Kevin and other Planet Sports Rookies. Our homies over at Planet Sports just fired us over this neat-o edit of Marko Grilc, DBK and Tim-Kevin Ravnjak knocking the back out of Saas Fee’s park. Amazing how cats can pull doubles off such little jumps these days…

In terms of pre-season warm-ups, here in Europe it seems to be all about Hintertux and Saas Fee right now. We’ve seen a fair few from both in recent weeks and now Planet Sports team riders David Bertschinger Karg, Grilo and Tim-Kevin weigh in with their edit. You will learn some bad words in Slovenian from this edit, see some steezing, funshred and double corkers.

Silje Norendal is really, really good at snowboarding and as such has found herself hooked up on the swelling Planet Sports pro team.

If we write any more we’ll run the risk of crossing the line into a smutty place surrounded by old men in long, brown macs with leery look and let ourselves, yourselves and Silje down. So here is the Planet Sports chat. Nice work Silje, keep on ripping!

Riders from Norway seem to be born with shred talent, but on the other hand must inevitably follow in the the great footsteps of icons such as Torstein Horgmo or the unforgettable Terje Haakonsen.

Silje Norendal is a young woman who almost seems to have a playful approach to this heritage. While other girls were playing with dolls or riding a bike without stabilisers for the first time, the sweet Silje, at the tender age of 4 years, had already started snowboarding on the stormy slopes of Norway.

Since 1999 she’s participated in international events between Strandafjellet and Lake Tahoe, and at the young age of 18 is almost a veteran on the contest circuit. Not without a reason has she won the silver medal at the Winter X Games as well as a place between the exclusive Planet Sports team.

We are incredibly happy about this top-class newcomer and also Torstein can be happy about his Norwegian compatriot, which will twist the guys not only due to her snowboarding skills but also because of her charming appearance.

Eero Ettala ponders the newest member of Planet Sports' shred team. Not convinced. NOT!

Planet Sports are gearing up to announce their latest recruit to their burgeoning snowboard team and have enlisted current team members Eero Ettala and Marko Grilc to give their opinions on their new crew member.

The German retail giant looks to be stepping its game up to take on the world, as their team is certainly getting a more international flavour these days. In addition to some of the Deutsch-speaking world’s finest, like David Benedek, Ethan Morgan, Wolle Nyvelt and Fips Strauss, they have the aforementioned Messrs Ettala and Grilc on board and will shortly announce another dude from a non-Germanic nation (and who frickin’ kills it) as their freshest team shred.

We’d give you a hint but, you know, these Germans are pretty efficient at silencing people so all we’ll say is that he’s kind of a big deal. Check out what Ettala and Grillo have to say on him…
