Scotty from Rome gives you a run through of some of the hot new products the company are releasing in the 2011/2012 season.

Scotty Todd from Rome Snowboards gives you a run through of some of the hot new products the company are releasing in the 2011/2012 season.

Ever since they were established over ten years ago, Rome Snowboards have had a strong ideology of anti-corporation and have focused on giving riders quality products that speak for themselves and not ones that are popular simply because of marketing campaigns. They now boast a pro team with the likes of Bjorn Leines, LNP and Lucas Debari and produce a range of snowboards, boots, bindings and outerwear.

New for 2011/2012 is the Mob binding which comes in small, medium and large and has a unibond construction as well as a V-Rod base. The V-Rod base consists of contact points from the front and the back, with the opposite contact points being raised up 6mm so you get a true side to side flex pattern and a true flex pattern from the board. The Mob also features an adjustable toe and heel system and is the only binding on the market at the moment that has a cant in the back. There is a screw on the side which when turned allows the high back to be canted from 3 degrees to 6 degrees thus allowing relief when riding super wide stances.

The classic Targa binding features a new anti shock high back system which has a piston that gives a damping of 3 degrees before the bite kicks in. There is the new C3 toe and ankle straps which keep your feet snug and also allow you to adjust the stiffness of the binding.

New in the board range for next season is the Factory Rocker which is aimed at bringing new and exciting technology to the the entry level board market. It has the Mountain Pop camber (rocker in between the feet with standard camber on the nose and tail) which allows you to charge into kickers yet still be in full control. Also in line for the coming 2011/2012 season is the Rome Reverb that features a true twin as well as a centre speed base that makes the board an all mountain killer. It has a salt impact plates under the bindings which cuts core compression by 2.5 times and the board, which features Mountain Pop camber too, comes in standard and standard wide widths. An awesome kill it all, go anywhere board.

For the full technical run down from a Scottish Scotty, check out the product preview video above.

Take a look at this preview of O’Neill’s snowboard outwear product range for 2011/2012.

O’Neill have always been a top dollar outwear brand but after teaming up with über freeride destroyer Jeremy Jones they have released some seriously tech outerwear with a super stylish edge.

The first new piece of kit for 2011/2012 is the Jeremy Jones signature 3-layer jacket from the Jones Experience line, which features a four way stretch fabric as well as recycled materials that are in conjunction with the Protect Our Winters charity scheme aimed at raising awareness about climate change. Amen to that. It is also rocks 20k breathability and 20k waterproofness along with waterproof zippers and a reinforced, yet light, design.

Also from the Jones Experience line a jacket designed by one of Jeremy’s mates – a design which also features on the JONES boards next season too.

Another exciting product that is gonna be available for 2011/2012 is Sebastien Toutant‘s new signature jacket. As an X Games gold medal winner and Air and Style champion his signature jacket was always going to be something stylish and we were not disappointed. It is a super high tech piece of kit designed by the man himself with an ultra smooth style which resembles a hoody shape with a longer length to give the freedom of movement and style a world class shredder deserves.

The O’Neill women’s product range is also looking super hot with a nice combination of street style and high tech performance. There are some rad faux denim styles as well as some ‘freaky’ styled prints which also feature 10k waterproofness and 10k breathability.

Check this preview video out to see what sick new snow products and technology Oakley have in line for the coming 2011/2012 season.

Check this preview video out to see what sick new snow products and technology Oakley have in line for the coming 2011/2012 season.

Oakley began in the motocross market way back in the 70′s selling accessories but they soon became outstanding with their goggles and sunglasses which naturally saw them enter the snow sports market not long after. Now they offer a variety of outwear and clothing as well as their trademark goggles sunglasses and are very much a big fish in the snowboarding pond. This coming 2011/2012 they have some really rad technology lined up which will blast any doubters out of the water, if there even are any, and affirm Oakley as the original eyewear masters.

Next season’s goggle product line features an awesome array of new styles and colours as well as a full pro athlete line up which sees all their top riders each get their own custom goggle.

But the big news for 2011/2012 has to be the new Switchlock technology found of the Airbrake goggles which is a revolution in terms of how you change your lens. It consists of a lever that releases the lens instantly without the hassle that the standard pop out system poses, allowing you to change your lens within seconds. This technology is going to be perfect for those colder days when you want to spend as little time as possible fiddling about with your goggles – it even looks like you could probably operate the system with your gloves on. No more excuses for not being able to see clearly next season then…

For the full low down on this sick new product, have a look at the preview video above.

Take a look at a selection of the new products Pull-In will be releasing for the 2011/2012 season.

Pull-In are a undergarment brand from Hossegor in the south west of France who are dedicated to providing the action sports community with the very best in underwear. Started after the creator noticed a gap in the market, Pull-In have focused on evolving new technologies to make their products as high-performance as possible.

Marketing manager Guillaume Baché first shows off the new impact short product they have on offer in the 2011/2012 season. It features the new high performance D3o anti-shock material and is therefore perfect for snowboarders throwing it big in the park ,or even just for those of you who just have a tendency to fall on your ass a lot! There is also a back protector product which looks like it is going to complement the shorts perfectly and they both would be a killer duo for any full-on shredder.

They also have a new line of technical underclothing which does not feature the D3o technology but does come in some sick colour schemes, as do all their products. This line of snowboarding undergarments are designed not as anti shock products but instead as a different kind of performance wear which keep you super comfy and dry on the mountain.

So, if this preview clip is anything to go by Pull-In’s epic line of underwear products is definitely continuing for the coming 2012/2012 season. If you like colourful high performance wear, then Pull-In is for you.

Check it all out in the preview above.

Take a look at this product preview to see what Ride Snowboards are trying to tickle your fancy with this coming 2011/2012 season.

Take a look at this product preview to see what Ride Snowboards are trying to tickle your fancy with this coming 2011/2012 season.

Established in 1992, Ride Snowboards have been producing top quality snowboarding gear, both hardware and outwear, for almost 20 years now. With some classic boards under their belt and an array of top riders getting buckwild for them, Ride are up at the top of the pile when it comes to quality snowboard companies.

This year team rider Jake Blauvelt has his own pro model, the Berzerker. The construction was done specifically for him, with rocker in the tail and nose and a set back camber making it perfect for his all-mountain freestyle riding. This set back camber also means you get loads of power out of turns as well as good edge control on all snow conditions. The graphics are also super nice on this playful and easy riding all-mountain freestyle board.

Also new in the board department is the Crush, which is an awesome looking park board that features a Lowrize rocker. This rocker basically means that you have a minimal height rocker in the front and back of the board which allows for a super fun and playful ride. Along with its crazy fluro green colour scheme this looks like a super fun board to ride and although being most at home in the park, it is still perfectly comfortable riding the piste all day. A really rad stick.

The Capo is an all new binding for the 2011/2012 season featuring a new chassis that gives awesome boot-to-binding customisation with featherlight weight. And continuing the neon green radness is their new boot, the Hi-Phy, another all-new product with a lightweight one-piece construction.

Peep it all.

Check out this preview of some of the highlights from the awesome 2011/2012 season product line up from Nitro Snowboards.

Nitro Snowboards are a top brand when it comes to hardwear and have a pretty spot on collection of outwear too. In this tasty little product preview one of the head guys from the company gives you a quick run through of what’s hot in the hardware department for the coming 2011/2012 season.

There is going to be a range of snowboards designed very closely with Nitro riders, such as Eero Ettala, Austin Smith, Bryan Fox, Jon Kooley, Anton Gurrarsson, Ben Bilocq and Marcus Keller. They will be have a board designed for their specific needs by a designer and then the riders will each design their own graphics. Another nice new board product is the Factory series with takes standard shapes and concepts like the T1, Team and the Rook and basically got them pumped on steroids. The end result is a line of high-end boards that are lightweight and super responsive. There are four different models of these new faster, stronger, better boards; one based on the T1, one on the Rook and two on the Team.

Also new is the Blacklight, which is one of Nitro’s top-end all-mountain boards that comes in camber and Gullwing. It is an all-mountain freestyle twin tip which comes in four different width sizes from normal to wide, with two stages in between which means you can get a super custom fit no matter what size your feet are. This range is gonna stoke a lot of people out.

In the binding department there is not so much revolution going on but rather evolution with loads of nice details being added to an already solid line of products. With the lightweight and ultra-responsive Machine binding, there is now air dampening in the form of airbags on the base and a reinforced strap with a stainless steel cable integrated into it, meaning it’s virtually unbreakable whilst remaining nice and flexible. The Phantom is Nitro’s super responsive highend freestyle binding which features a lightweight flat highback which is sick for tweaks and sideways movement. The Phantom also features the same in strap cable technology and looks like a key bit of kit for tearing up the park.

For boots the main bit of technology is the Reducer construction, which features in the Reducer and Select models. This involves 360° casting which means that instead of just the top of the foot being cast, as is the case which regular casting, the whole foot is cast which gives a awesome comfy fit. It is also more compact and more lightweight. A really important evolution for the 2011/2012 Nitro boot range.

For a video lowdown, give the preview above a watch.

Check out this preview clip of Nikita marketing director Geiri introducing the streetwear and outwear product collections for 2011/2012.

Check out this preview clip of Nikita marketing director Geiri introducing the streetwear and outwear product collections for 2011/2012.

Nikita is rad Icelandic clothing brand started some 10 years ago by head designer Heida Birigisdottir. Although a skate and streetwear influenced company, they also have strong roots in snowboarding having previously been strong supporters of the Iceland Park Project, not to mention the AK Extreme in Iceland. This snowboarding vibe continues and the outwear product line for 2011/2012 looks as strong as ever.

Geiri explains how their product collection consists of streetwear and outwear, with the outwear always being heavily influenced by the unique style of the streetwear. The streetwear collection has got everything from logo tees, to knits and super nice checked shirts and accommodates girls who want to just rock some street style gear to girls who are serious about fashion and slick style.

With the outwear collection the emphasis is on the fun, says Geiri. As Icelandic weather is notoriously brutal, having top notch outwear that works is a must and Nikita’s product range reflects this. The outwears rad colour schemes, ranging from simple block colours to awesome print patterns again all inspired by the streetwear line, reflect the vibe of fun that the company think is so important. In the range there are 18 jackets and 16 pants which all share style and cut with the street range such as nice slim style pants through to more regular baggy ones. The selection they have is really varied and there is something for everyone.

But the final word has to go to Geiri, ‘In the end its all about the toys, playing and having fun, and if you can’t do that then go do something else’. Not quite sure what toys he’s talking about but you get the general message – Nikita is rad.

Check out this preview of what new snowboarding products Nike 6.0 have got in store for you in the coming 2011/2012 season.

Ever since they spawned from the all-conquering sports company Nike, Nike 6.0 have been making great progress in the snowboarding world. Their pro team is full of top riders such as Halldor Helgason, Mikkel Bang and Peetu Piiroinen to name but a few, and this motley crew of shredders can only be seen as a testament to the company’s demands for high quality. With some cool new products lined up, the 2011/2012 season is looking like a good one for the guys at Nike 6.0.

The Nike 6.0 women’s Bellevue jacket is a key style in the 2011/2012 product range. It comes with a super stylish Nordic printed gilet on top and weighs in at 10k for both waterproofness and breathability keeping you warm and dry too. It also has a snow skirt to keep you comfortable when shredding the pow and comes in a fluro pink too for the more flamboyant ladies.

The 2011/2012 men’s Proost jacket is very similar to the popular 2010/2011 model but has a different work-wear style colour scheme. With a warm goose-down filled insulated inner this jacket is perfect for those cold winter days and the 10k and waterproofness and breathability make sure that when you are warm, you stay warm.

Nike 6.0 also have a new boot out for the coming season. The Vapen, which means ‘weapon’, is a classic Nike styled boot with aesthetics that back to the Jordan Air. Thanks to the relaxed structure it has a nice flex and is great for jibbing or for someone just after a comfortable boot. It also rocks NASA space technology (as all good boots should) which apparently helps moderate the temperature of the boot, making sure your feet are warm and that the cold air stays out.

With all these great products on show the preview clip above is definitely worth a look.

Feast you eyes on some of the amazing new products Lib Tech Snowboards will be releasing come the 2011/2012 season in this preview.

Lib Tech Snowboards are a pretty big deal in the snowboard world, having pioneered the camber revolution with their banana rocker technology as well as making innovative advancements in other areas such as their magnetraction edge technology. Their pro team boasts big names such as Mark Landvik, Eric Jackson as well as the formidable Travis Rice and as a company are pushing the boundaries of snowboard making whilst always being focused on keeping it as fun as possible.

The Attack Banana, which was released on its own mid-season, now has a whole range to itself with sizes up to 161 wide. It features EC2 elliptical camber which gives it more of a defined transition, lots of pop whilst still being maneuverable like the catch-free banana and some awesome graphics designed by Mike Parillo. Nice.

The Travis Rice Horsepower is a high-end shred stick from the Travis Rice range which is made from 100% volcanic basalt – making a board out of a volcano can surely only produce a seriously rad shred machine. Thanks to this lava tech the board is super light too and it will also star in next seasons The Art of Flight, Travis Rice’s follow up to the epic That’s It, That’s All.

Also on show is the La Nina which is an awesome looking freeride specific all mountain board. It’s not a true twin as it has a longer nose than tail, and also features a cambered tail, a banana middle section and a standard rocker nose. This is prefect for powering through powder, cruising pistes and hitting just about anything you want.

Long time team rider Jesse Burtner has now got a complete custom range called the Burtner Boxsctacher Series. These have a nice sot flex, killer base graphics and are great go anywhere, hit anything boards.

Finally the Lib Tech Birdman is a new powder specific board which, due its crafty sidecut technology, is piste-turn friendly. It comes in the epic lengths of 170 and 180.

Give the preview vid above a watch to see just how awesome these new products are looking.
