Put yourself in the mind of John Jackson as he charges his way down the Supernatural course. This made us hoot, and it also made us slightly dizzy.

John’s first two runs are full-on hell for leather stormers, and although he has a bit of a nightmare on the course’s upper section in his final run he still manages to stomp a back 10 double cork to win the best trick award. If you ever wondered what it would look like pulling such a trick, well, watch the third run and you’ll know. In short: confusing.

It didn’t went unnoticed that you, our dear reader, are quite stoked on the Red Bull Supernatural TV Show. If you haven’t seen it, take a long lunch and go watch the entirety of it.

However, if time only permits you watch a two minutes clip today, then you should focus on this one: Nike teamrider Gigi Rüf’s Contour cam point of view run at the Supernatural event. Baldface has never been slashed in better style. All time as they say, all time!

You know Travis Rice won, we know Travis Rice won. You’ve seen some stuff from the event, we have too. But we haven’t been treated to how the event actually went down, until now. To be honest, we found it kinda weird – perhaps it was impossible for the Supernatural to live up to the hype – so in a nutshell what you get is occasionally insane riding on an insane course overdubbed by some talky men whose mainstream-focussed chat becomes a little grating, and some graphics that make it look like a powder-filled Formula 1.

It’s a bit odd. It’s also a bit awesome: seeing the likes of Mark McMorris humbled by the face is as engaging as watching Müller rip it, and there’s no denying that this is the truest representation of snowboarding on a mainstream TV slot to date. But it is just that – TV. Check it for yourselves…

This is a compilation of some POV moments at the Red Bull Supernatural competition at Baldface/BC featuring Gigi Rüf, John Jackson, Terje Haakonsen, Mark McMorris, Mark Landvik and Travis Rice. Filmed entirely on Contour cameras. But what’s really astonishing is the last Shazam-bit. It blew us out of our muddy European water!

You probably heard by now that Travis Rice won his own event – the Red Bull Supernatural – last Saturday. As you’ll have also gathered, there’s never been anything like this before and video footage has been scarce to say the least. Have a look at this pre-event course check and let your imaginations run wild till end of March when the TV show drops…

From the limited number of reports and couple of shots we’ve seen, the gig was something special to behold but we’ll not be getting our peepers on any footage of what went down till at least March 31, when a Red Bull TV special will air in the US. From this, we can only imagine that that’s not to be missed…
