Apart from a crew of amazing snowboarders and a good handful of filmers, the Onboard Send Off Sessions at Kitzsteinhorn were also a perfect opportunity for photographers to hone their skills at park shoots. Some of the best shots can be admired in our current print issue, but our ed-in-chief/photographer Danny Burrows opened his archive and picked some of his favourite shots for an online gallery. Nike Chosen Sessions

“Sat on the charlift, I craned my neck and swore. Back over my shoulder the first features were emerging from behind a large bank of snow. ‘Would you look at the size of that thing!’ I spluttered, craning to get a better look at a 200ft long Swoosh. As the rest of the setup revealed itself it became clear that the Nike guys hadn’t been hyping when they’d told us they would be building ‘something special’ for the Nike Chosen Sessions.”

In May, Onboard realised a long-time wish and together with Kitzsteinhorn created a private season end session: The Onboard & Kitzsteinhorn Send Off Sessions were born.

A number of custom-built obstacles, a crew of motivated snowboarders, plenty of snow, and luxurious off-hill facitlities made for the perfect season ender. Watch this teaser to get an idea what the Sessions were all about.
