Signal Snowboards wrap up the 2012/13 Every Third Thursday season with a traditional soap box car race snowboard. Wait, what? Exactly. Watch the video to find out more!

Signal Snowboards cap an epic 2012/13 winter with a good old fashioned derby race! Paying tribute to traditional Soap Box Car races, Signal founder Dave Lee rounds up pinewood 2x4s as the foundation for these unique snowboards. The Signal crew then gets to work in the factory planing and gluing the 2x4s to create the base for each board. Custom graphics are added, then it’s time to hit the road to Mammoth Mountain. Snowboarders Ian Thorley, Dylan Synnott, Joey Yorba and friends meet up with Dave to transform these boards into their own custom derby destroyers! With boards assembled the guys hit the hill to compete on their creations. You won’t believe the speed these guys get on 2x4s! Goodbye winter—hello summer 2013!

Signal welcome us to the future for their latest ETT, and 3D print a frickin’ snowboard. Does it work? Erm, kinda…

ETT is here in 3D! No, you don’t need the glasses, but it is time to hang out with the crew as they dive in to a whole new dimension and explore the world of digital printing. Can you really just print a snowboard on a printer?! Well, hit print, I mean play and you will soon find out!

It’s crystal clear to us that Signal Snowboards are cutting edge in terms of making their board creation process transparent. In other words: We present the first ever snowboard made entirely out of glass.

For this month’s episode, Signal Snowboards‘ Founder Dave Lee leaves the factory to travel across the sea to an Italian glass factory to create a handmade glass snowboard—the most delicate build to date! The glass snowboard is cut, pressed, tempered, and ever so carefully transported to the slopes. Signal Snowboards Italian team rider Giorgio “Iannino” Morell takes it for the all important test ride at Abetone ski resort in Tuscany. See how this glass artwork performs under pressure—will it slide or shatter?

Check back every third Thursday of the month for another custom snowboard build from Signal Snowboards.

Signal Snowboards’ Every Third Thursday is all about putting wacko snowboard ideas into realities. This month they decided to integrate coins into a board to create “penny traction”. Watch how Jake Olson-Elm gets to write this brain fart.

Every Third Thursday is about ideas, about engineering, about the beauty of manufacturing and always pushing the boundaries. So what happens when Dave Lee and the Signal Snowboards crew come up with an idea that has nothing to do with any of those meaningful aspects? They run with it! This month’s factory challenge is to build a snowboard integrating pennies—pennies in the base and “penny traction” edges specifically. Jake Olson-Elm is the chosen one to ride what might just be the worst ETT idea ever. Priceless! Hit play now to watch some noncents go down! Heads or tails, we think this month’s episode is still a winner!
Check ‘em make it, shred it and shoot the hell out of it.

We’ll hold our hands up and say we have no idea what the hell is going on in this edit but, from what we know is a FACT is that Torstein Horgmo, Peter König, Tom Klocker and about 7 billion other guys will get this and thus we have posted it. We’re all about having our finger on the throbbing g-spot of youth culture here. However, in order to show our age, there’s no way this can compete with THIS.

For the latest ETT, Signal teamed up with the Keep-A-Breast foundation to help spread the good word. The resulting board looks like a set of bra-held hooters, and when finished some of Signal’s female riders rip it up on a hastily assembled patch of snow at Mountain High Resort.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Signal Snowboards crew are teaming up with the Keep-A-Breast (KAB) foundation in an episode that’s all about feeling boobs! In an effort to do their part to bring a little education, fun, and snowboarding to a very serious subject, Signal and KAB Founder Shaney Jo Darden create a custom Breast Cast of Signal graphics leader Meg Smith (Meg sheds her shirt!), and build a custom Bra Board. Model Susan Holmes McKagen makes a surprise appearance to help with the snowboard build. And when the Bra Board is ready to shred, the lacy lingerie is handed off to Signal snowboarders Melissa Riitano, Katie Williams, and Jamie Madrid for the most important part of the build—a thorough exam on snow at California’s Mountain High resort. Make it a monthly habit girls!
