You can’t win them all as evidence from Deja Vu Movie’s Frank April, LNP, Louif Paradis and Alex Cantin! Putting together a solid part for any snowboard movie requires throwing yourself off ledges, down rails and into uncertain success. These guys are true professionals and take the good with the bad continually getting back up and giving it another shot. If these slams are any indication of how hard the guys were pushing it out there we can’t wait to see the tricks they land! Bangers!

In the latest addition to our Near Death files, a French dude peeks over the edge of a cliff, loses his footing, slips, tumbles through a minefield of craggy outcrops and ends by plummeting off a sizeable cliff. It starts out looking pretty bad and proceeds to get worse from there on in. Gut-wrenching. We thought he’d definitely be seriously injured after such a hectic ride – if not even a goner – but, much like the well-documented skier who slipped off a gnarly cliff last season, by the end you see he seems to have miraculously escaped any kind of serious injury. Insane.

And this just in from our French ed, who we asked to tell us what Monsieur Neuf Vies is saying…

In the beginning, when he starts coming down, he says “I’m crapping my pants!” and “I don’t even know how to get back to the resort!” then
“Aaaaahhhhhaaarrrgghhhhhhh!” [we'd already figured that one out...], then “I can’t believe I’m still alive…”

Excuse us for toning down the official title of this video “Snowboard Carnage Part 1! The Ultimate 2012 Slam Section: Absinthe Films”, but we don’t believe in tabloid journalism nearly as much as we probably should. Having said that, this video IS full of heavy snowboard carnage!

Getting a part in an Absinthe movie requires pushing the limits of progression and personal comfort zones. In pursuit of that progression there are plenty of slams, scorpions, tomahawks, rag dolls, close calls, and falls of every variety. Remember that Euro Railvolution Snow Porn from a couple weeks ago featuring Wojtek Pawlusiak, Niels Schack, Denis Leontyev and Ludwig Lejkner? Well it wasn’t all rainbows and ice cream sherbert out there. Those guys are all really good, but they had to earn those tricks and the side result was this collection of bails.

Two minutes fourty three seconds of Eero Ettala, Heikki Sorsa and friends getting broke off, from amusing penguin slides to wince-inducing kneebenders.

Though it’s actually Tuesday morning, the fact that yesterday was a Bank Holiday here in god’s nation of the free state of Bavaria means we’ve a touch of the Mondays this am. Consequently we can’t remember if snowboard movies have slam sections these days. Back in days of yore these would be eagerly anticipated constituent parts of both snow and skate flicks, but more recently we have the feeling they’ve become somewhat of a forgotten art. Like we said, we should probably check our facts, but it’s Monday, we need coffee, and the chances of you reading this are slim.
