The latest in Smith’s sweet series of webisodes following the sessions that went down at their secret Idaho R&D base has riders like Kyle Clancy, Desiree Melancon, Jeff Kramer and Cody Rosenthal chucking their stuff in the zone. Check it.

DCP is a busy dude, but somehow makes time to drop heavy lines, plant trees, get tubed and most recently host a slideshow at Showcase Snowboard Shop in Whistler, BC. Sharing memorable stories and crediting those who helped shape his career, DCP ran through hand selected images from some of the most renowned photographers in the game. Coming out in full force to support the show were a slew of Whistler locals along with photographer Scott Serfas, Alex Warburton, JF Pelchat and YES teammates JP Solberg and Romain de Marchi. Ending the night with a silent auction and charity raffle, the event brought in another $1000 that will go toward planting trees in Costa Rica, a region where DCP has placed 291 trees and looks to get another 100 in the ground by this summer. 

A man who stands strongly behind his projects, DCP is a major proponent for Protect Our Winters (POW), an environmental non-profit organization that works to fight global climate change. In addition, he makes sure a heavy chunk of his SPY goggle sales go toward reforestation efforts in Costa Rica through the organization Community Carbon Trees.

Sooner or later all good comes to an end. But to make this end a little less painful we kept one very special episode for this moment. In May 2011 the Smith Team came together in Val Senales for the Team Shooting, to go snowboarding in the awesome shaped park and to ride the backcountry. The busy timetable of the riders makes it difficult for a team to spend some time together, so that this week was at Schnalstal was a very special week. Shared BBQ, night shootings, having a beer together and things like that made that time memorable. We hope that we could catch some of the atmosphere to pass it on to you. For their second We Travel episode Smith Optics sent their team far out into the backcountry. To shoot this episode their team riders went from Hasliberg, Suisse to Kaunertal and Arlberg in Austria all the way to the USA. The riders in order of appearance are Gian Simmen, Stefano Munari, Fabian Fassnacht, David Bertschinger Karg, Phips Gruber, Aaron Holtermann, Matthias Vogt and Mario Käppeli.

Smith Optics are boarding the webisode train with their new show “We Travel”, featuring all their Euro team riders.

We are very proud of our team and don’t want to hold off the results of their hard work. Therefore we created the project “We Travel”. The idea behind that project was to send our team riders out into different terrains and let them do what they do best: ride. At the end we got five episodes: park, powder, urban, USA and the Smith shoot.

The first episode is called “USA”. Our Team riders Fabian Fassnacht, Matthias Vogt, Stefano Munari, Aron Holtermann and Mario Käppeli travelled around the States; from Lake Tahoe to the Northstar Park, from Squaw Valley and Seven Springs to Mammoth and June. Some Rock’n’Roll attitude, deep powder and lots of fun, that’s the first episode of “We Travel”. Enjoy the video!

This is Smith Optics’ Prospecting Idaho season 2 episode 11, and once again it will make you itch for those pow lines…

Local logistics crew Pat Lee, Spencer Cordovano, Jeremy Black and Yancy Caldwell keep the PI compound running smoothly. When they’re not fixing broken cats, filling sleds with fuel and raking the in-runs they’re riding harder than most the visiting pros.

You’ll have doubtless seen Kimmy Fasani tearing women’s snowboarding a new one in the TB20 webisode a couple weeks back, and now you get to see more of her impressive skills as she and Iris Lazzareschi hit up the bro-zone. Heaps of pow in this one – send some Euro side please.
