There is a bunch of snowboarding games for the iPhone and iPad, but so far MyTP Snowboarding 2 is the most sim-like, legit and altogether best offering around.

Ok, Ok. This is geeky as hell and arguably you should be out there doing anything else, but if you’re stuck on a bus, a plane, or even in a gondola for a long while you might have exhausted your patience with Flight Centre and want to play at being Seb Toutant then a snowboarding game for your iThang could be just up your street. And we’ve found what’s the best iPhone snowboarding game around right now.

There’s a bunch floating about the app store: from the weird and flippy side-on race things what are kind of fun, to SSX-esque hyper-disco balling arcade-style ones, cartoony efforts or stuff the Shaun White endorses which are all kinda sucky.

But as real snowboarders, we want a bit of simulatory realism from our snowboarding games, and MyTP Snowboarding 2 is the best iPhone / iPad snowboarding game so far. Sure it is no Amped, or Stoked for that matter, but despite an initially confusing control system you’ll be up and double corking on various real mountain courses, halfpipes and big air events. There’s photoshoots, contests, freeriding, instant replay modes and, best of all, you can get your inner Mark McMorris on at the flick of a finger.

The best online snowboard game ever is back! Instead of moving a little character around you’ll have to get in the action yourself and not just a little – you have to do exactly what the pros are doing, or at least copy their tricks as perfectly as you can. The best imitators of all can win fame and glory – in the disguise of 5.000 USD of prize money, Horsefeather goodie packs for every tricks and coverage in magazines and on websites all over the world.  That could be the break through for your snowboarding career…

Starting on December 28th, every week there will be a new pro showing a trick in a video clip that you will have to copy, film and upload to king-of-snow.com within one week. For each trick you stomp you get round points that will be added up to a final ranking. To make it easier for you, the consecutive trick will always be announced as well so you can complete 2 rounds with one riding day. The judging system was changed a bit from last year as well, and you now also get round points, that are increasing with the level of the tricks, besides the online voting points.

For every country that has at least 25 riders competing in the King of S.N.O.W there will also be a national ranking – so make sure your mates get hooked on this too! Rookies, meaning riders between 6 and 15 years, can also win amazing prizes – the best rookie will win a the Blue Tomato Rookie Award, containing a sponsorship deal with free stuff support and reduced prices in the shop. And to make the package complete, also girls should try as hard as they can – for them the title Queen of S.N.O.W is up for grabs, including a Horsefeathers Girls Outerwear and Streetwear Combo and a Blue Tomato Streetwear Package.

In the end the best 10 riders will be invited to the final, taking place April 16-18th in the Horsefeathers Superpark in Planai (AUT).

So the story goes… Bad luck… Yap that’s d 2 words I can describe past few months. So many visas, traveling costs for nothing, broken snowboard and broken elbow and second surgery. Simply as that I’m officially broke. And then my friend said to me Blue Tomato is the answer.. Yeah maybe if i have the money…but no they are giving some stuff for free!! You guys are the bright light in the and of the tunnel… I am not good in witting this days with one healthy hand so my pics and video can describe what was i doing till yesterday… Hopefully I don’t need to do those things anymore… So my grandpa always says THEY been watching ussss…. So I hacked satellite and here you go the little story….

Stoked – The New Snowboard Videogame

Stoked finally brings realistic gaming to our XBoxes!

Stoked is the name of the newest invention in snowboard game. Using a wholly new approach the developers at Bongfish present to us a game which we have been craving for. Stoked is the first Open World World snowboard game and at the same time a game which puts the realistic mode onto your Xbox. The open world mode gives you the opportunity to explore 5 snowboarding worlds on your own and hit the mountains wherever you want. For support you will be able to use a helicopter which can drop you off at exactly the peak or mountain face you would like to hit next. But there is still way to go! The weather in Stoked is dynamic which puts your favourite mountains into different conditions. And finally once it starts snowing the snow stays, just as in the real world and you will be able to catch some thick pillow runs and great powder turns! No wishes stay unanswered in Stoked – daylight changes, snowstorms it is a 100% realistic game!

But the developers continued the realistic touch also in the rest of the game – it begins with real riders through real snowboard gear and ends at real board models. The Pros available in the game belong to the big names we know from contests and videos – riders like Travis Rice, Nicolas Mueller, Wolle Nyvelt, Annie Boulanger, Romain de Marchi, Tadashi Fuse, Gigi Ruef, and Bjorn Leines will definitely increase your fun gaming. Lukas, Ursi, Lisi, Alex, Simone and me, hit the road to Zürich last Thursday about 1 pm in the afternoon. Due to some problems with the entertainment system (the radio) our first stop was a local electronic dealer. Hooked up with a new radio we arrived at our Hotel about 11 pm without any bigger occurences. Friday was the day for building up our booth, checking out Zürich, shopping and the opening of the freestyle.ch. The Zimtstern inventory-clearance sale was perfect for the shopping part of the day. But you should know one thing if you visit Zürich these days, never rely on a navigation system cause there are roadworks everywhere. And if I say that I mean really EVERYWHERE. 6pm doors opened at the freestyle.ch.

At our booth you could get Blue Tomato catalogues, gingerbread hearts, stickers and Clast headbands. Additional we had a photo-wall of our Lederhosen Boardshort. Big props to Renato and all the other Clast guys for the support!

We rotated with working so that everyone could have a look at some action going on and checking out all the other booths. Don’t have to mention how high the riding level was at the contest, sure you already checked out some of the videos which are online everywhere on the internet. In the evening Lisi and Simone visited the Zimtstern party, but the rest of us were too exhausted and preferred to catch up some sleep. On Saturday the doors opened from 11am till 11pm.

After doors were closed we headed towards the After Burner Party with premiere of the new Pirates flick “Jolly Roger”. Film was sick, party was fun, just have a look at the pics! Unfortunately we had to work the next day but we made it and spread the last catalogues, ginger bread hearts and Clast headbands to the masses so that we could enjoy the superfinals.

Around 10pm our booth found its way back to the van and we could leave the Landiwiese towards Schladming. The trip was some kind of weird due to some, let’s call it “burger-escape” and technical difficulties at the refuel station. Nevertheless we arrived Schladming at 4am. Totally done but also stoked about the great weekend.
