Stop five and also the last one of the SnowBroader Spring Tour is Mottolino Snowpark in Livigno, Italy. It stands as the biggest Snowpark in Italy and one of the largest/best ones in entire Europe. With a total of 43 rails and boxes, 19 jumps and two halfpipes the numbers also speak for themselves. As if that is not enough the resort of Livigno also offers antoher two parks in the winter time, one on the opposite side slope of Livigno village and one toward the bottom station of the Mottolino cable lift station.

The Mottolino snowpark is devided into four seperate areas that offer features suitable for begginers to pros. Lines are tagged from S to XL.

On the first day we were not that lucky with the weather, actually the weather made no physical sense since it somehow snowed at +6 degrees?!?! Luckily the second day we woke up to a bluebird skye so therefore that meant it was time to hit the park. As we got to the park, the morning shaping was still in progress so we decied to make a few super carving runs on the slope haha. But when we got back the park shredding was already in progress.

The Large line kickers were the most populated and quite some stylish tricks went down. The pipe was also under attack and some nice airs were seen. The downrail and the straight rail for some reason did not get shreded that much, though some locals still stepped up and showed some rail wizardry. In the end we were lucky enough witness some mahyem go down in the XL line. It is just mind blowing to see people throw down tricks on the 19m kicker and the 18m gap as it was nothing. Amongst all sorts and kinds of 540s, a perfect corked 720 on the 18m gap jump was the trick of the day in my book. Respect!

Unluckily we didn´t get so see/ride the Metro jib area since it was so late in the season that this part of the park unfortunatley had to be closed down due to lack of snow and super high temperatures. So next time we are deffinatley coming earlier in the season to get the full taste of what Livigno has to offer.

To conclude all we can say is that although the high tempreatures, slushy snow and the fact that the season is coming to an end the park staff still manages to maintaine a great park. Most definetly worth a visit!

Crossing the border from Austria to Italy comes the fourth stop of SnowBroader Spring Tour 2010 – Nitro Snowpark Val Senales. Located at the Val Senales/Schnalstal glacier in South Tirol it streches on over 120.000 square meters of the glacier area. In cooperation with “fakieshop.com“, “Gentlemen Riders” and further sponsors they have build the snow park on the glacier 3.200 m above sea level. It offers an easy, medium and a proline so that every taste can be satisfied.

At the top of the mountain, as we got out of the glacier gondola and saw the park – MAN! Were we amased! Winter –like snow, blue bird skies and an overview of a snowpark that already from afar looked plain epic. The snowcats were just finishing the morning last touches and as we got to the park we witnessed a scene almost too good to be true. First we hit the easy line to warm up and it offers some great easy jib fun. Everbody soon found something to shred in the non crowded park fairytale. The only problem with the park is that it offers so many features, it makes it hard do decide what to hit first (it’s a hard knock life for us).

There is really something for everyone, from jib tubes and bonks, to rails, kickers and two hip jumps. Ofcourse all of the features in the park are made by the F Tech crew, so that everything is shaped into perfection. Are you interested in the set-up?!? Click HERE!!! To top the expirience we even got to feast our eyes with some insane action on the 24m kicker. Seppe Smits and his crew were throwing down some real insanities– damn those dudes are crazy! 720 doubles on the kicker were just some of the stuff that went down…

So to make the story short – Either you are a begginer or a pro, Val Senales is the place to get your spring/summer shred on!!!

Here you will find the park and happening that you are looking for! The park is daily taken care of by the Schneestern crew, so that everything is shaped into perfection. The lines are set perfectly, with just enough time between objects. The park is build in a way that all levels of riding can get satisfaction: beginner, medium and pro line gives you more pleasure that you can handle.

The perfectly shaped park throughout the Spring Classics is offering monster kicker, pro-kickerline, easy-kickerline, superpipe and mini shred, which is not as mini as they are saying (want to see how the set up looks like??? Click HERE). We could claim that the set-up on Kaunertal is one of the biggest Snowpark in Austria. So hitting this park is a perfect way of concluding the winter season before jumping into board shorts.

We all know that snowboarder’s dreams are shreding perfectly shaped park with no need for waiting to hit an obstacle. I’ll give you a tip how to live this dreams. Spring Classics 2010 on Kaunertal!!!

Sun. No wind. Perfect kickers. Shaped pipe. New obstacles. Crazy vibe. These are some of the things that made our day. It was just awesome. The best riders of the overall ranking battled for the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen Crown. A lot of action was seen on both kickers of the Pro Line with two tables (17m and 15m), 15m big Hip and not to forget about Red Bull Best Trick Session on the Canon Box.

Wir Schanzen Riders collected points for the overall ranking threw the whole winter. Only the best eight riders of each category were invited. And also four Wildcards have been given away in the Men’s category.

The Betterpark Hintertux was waiting with a perfectly shaped set-up where all the invited riders have done their best. That was the best event of the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen tour. Beside sick performance from riders, Jonathan Weaver as speaker and the DJ took care for a great vibe.

First Snowboard Kids showed their skills on Medium Kickers and a Jib line. Geiger Christian was just killing it and no one was able to steal the Crown from him. After the kids, Snowboard Ladies Jam Sessions was on. Battle between Diana Sadlowski and Christina Gruber was on fire. But Christina managed to take the Crown in her hands.

Around one o’clock in the afternoon the Snowboard Men Jam Session was on. Two big kickers in line and after this 15 meters big Hip followed. Dudes ripped the Finals. The Betterpark Hintertux saw some really sick tricks. From double back flips to double front flips, double corks, some really japan grabs and all possible turns. Matthias Vogt had his day and he left Hintertux with the Crown and 1000 € in his pockect. Pretty cool, ha?

After all this awesomeness the Red Bull Best Trick Session was on. The riders once again showed up and for the last time went into the battle for the Red Bull Ipod Touch. And Matthias Vogt threw some sick moves on Canon Box. Switch front flip of the Canon and he walked away with brand new Ipod Touch.

But enough about the event. Betterpark Hintertux was in perfect shape. I have never seen such a perfectly shaped pipe there. That was a surprise. All the kickers were like always in good shape. And they have placed new obstacles. Now park set-up can really satisfy all the needs that snowboarder has.

Pro Line:

2x Kicker 15m and 17m

15m Hip

120m Super Pipe

Medium Line:

2x Kicker 10m

Flat Down box 12m

Rainbow box 9m

C-Box 9m

Down Rail 9m

Easy Line:

2x Kicker 6m

Butter Box 4m
