SPRING SESSIONS 2012: MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo Events Confirmed Dates

From 24 March to 28 May 2012 it is again time for the Spring Sessions in the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo. On the Stubai Glacier, Austria’s biggest glacier ski area on Innsbruck’s doorstep the snowpark will flourish in spring with a big setup and numerous events.

The big and diverse setup of the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo at the Gaisskarferner with its daily shaped Pro-, Medium- and Easy-Lines is filled with numerous kickers and jib obstacles as well a super park base. This is the perfect place to enjoy the snowpark season from 24 March to 28 May 2012 on the Stubai Glacier at 3100 metres of altitude where snow is guaranteed. An exciting spring with many events is just around the corner!

The Spring Sessions will start on 24 March 2012 with the Park Opening with Forum Snowboards & Friends. At this kick-start of the spring season brand-new Forum snowboards of the season 2012/2013 can be tested the whole day for free to ride a session with the Austrian Teamriders Steve Grumser, Alex Beer, Max Glatzl or Raphael Tonitz. To mark this occation BBQ and cold drinks are waiting.

On 31 March 2012 the Stubai Jam, the last tour stop of the Wir Schanzen contest tour will take place in the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo. On a diverse slopestyle course freeskiers and snowboarders will fight for fame and glory at this event.

Moreover: You can already look forward to loads of girl power on the Lipstick Ladies Day on 21 April 2012. All ambitious snowboard ladies can register and together with the Lipstick girls they will paint the Stubai Zoo red. The tickets are limited. At the Quiksilver Jib Session on 5 May 2012 the focus is on style. Everybody can take part in the Jib Session on different obstacles to win vouchers for BBQ or drinks. It will worth it as the trick of the day will be rewarded with a week of surf holidays for two persons in the Quiksilver Surflodge in Portugal.

Another highlight of the Spring Sessions will be presented by the MOREBOARDS “Battle the Pros” on 12 May 2012. MOREBOARDS Teamriders like Elias Elhardt, Tom Klocker and Peter König will pop in for a relaxed shred day in the Stubai Zoo. Cash-for-Tricks is the motto in the “Battle the Pros” Session that is open for everybody. The session will be followed by the official Spring Sessions Party right in the Dorf Pub in Neustift. What a day!

Stubai Zoo: The Ice Sculpture

In the beginning of June 2010 Stubai Zoo met up with Christoph Weber, who had the idea of creating an unique obstacle involving a tower which is normally used for ice climbing. He invited his friends Christophe Schmidt, René Schnöller and Marco Smolla to session it with him.

And by the way, it has dumped more than 50 centimeters at the Stubai Glacier over night….

Moreboards Stubai Premiere 2010 – Highlights Video

The “Moreboards Stubai Premiere” was the snowpark opening of the Stubai Glacier, Austria which took place from 22nd to 24th of October 2010. We didn’t post any of the many clips after the event, but luckily we just received this highlight video, which is all shenanigans rolled into one four-minute-clip. Serious kicker action from Peter König, Werni Stock, Benny Wetscher, Chris Kröll and Elias Elhardt to be found in the second half of the clip.

Flo Achenrainer, Kevin Bäckström, Bobby Dangl, Felix Georgii, Bernhard Kraxner and Mitja Kodric shred the Stubai Zoo during its opening last weekend. Decent riding + some pasta cooking. What more does one want?

For everybody who is already sick of singing birds, green grass and blooming meadows the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo is the place to be. Until the end of May you will have the chance to shorten the summer break for you and your snowboard during the Spring Sessions. “The last shred” is the motto on the Snowbroader Video Weekend on May 23th and 24th where you can put your tricks on video not only in warm sunshine, but also in bright spotlight.

As most of the ski fields have already closed, the season is running at its very high at the MOREBOARDS Stubai Zoo on the Stubai Glacier. On the sunny side of the mountain, the snowpark with bright sun, long days and soft snow is the perfect location for extensive jib- and kickersessions. Rails, boxes and the three kickers in line with different take-offs are shaped perfectly every day and provide a lot of variety and a no-boredom-guarantee.

There is a special goody for all filmstars and aspirants on May 23th and 24th. You can be the star of a snowboard video production. Snowbroader.eu will record your action with our three cams. Pack out your best tricks and become rider in this clip which will be published on all kinds of platforms.

SnowBroader Spring Tour – Third Stop – Stubai & Stubaizoo

Sunny mountain pastures, verdant woods, thunderous waterfalls pouring into clear mountain lakes changed Stubaital vally. But still between 1,750 and 3,210 meters above sea level, 16 cableways and lifts as well as 90 km of downhill runs await your pleasure. Nevertheless action in the Moreboards Stubai Zoo is still guaranteed – also the Snowpark with its kickerline and jib-obstacles is in top-shape.

With the Moreboards Stubai Zoo the Stubai Glacier has still a massive snowpark for all you shred heads. And it will be opened till end of May! The new glacierpark is one of the largest parks around Innsbruck. The location of the park ensures sunshine till the afternoon and is the perfect place for the three thrilling lines.

On Saturday there was a Barbecue Session going on. Everything was there. Good food, motivated riders, perfect set-up. And yes, we said everything. So that also includes snow, fog, wind and some sunshine we also got. But anyway many snow junkies had a lot of fun in the park. Despite that in some moments you could’t see your friend riding infront of you. Anyhow, the Stubai Zoo crew decided for easy session on down-curved and A-frame-box. Because the weather did not contribute for bigger motivation, cool prizes did all the work instead of. Headphones, hoodies and T-shirts were flying croos the air for best perfomance on before mentioned obstacles. After the session all were leaving the mountain with smile on the face. Some because of new stuff in their back pack, others because of good meal, but all had one reason in common – a Good Vibe…

I almost forgot. Stubai Zoo park. There are three lines that you can take. The kickerline with various take-offs, after kickers a A-frame and a Lollypop are on, followed with a Down rail and Jibtone. The second line offers Rollers where beginners can try out their first jumps. And the third line consists of Jib-obstacles with new Pyrabox. With the Moreboards Stubai Zoo the Stubai Glacier has a massive snowpark for all you shred heads. The new glacierpark is one of the largest parks around Innsbruck (only 30 km away). The location of the park ensures sunshine till the afternoon and is the perfect place for the three thrilling lines, which are made with Schneestern wisdom and creativeness.

The kickerline with various take-offs, after kickers are a A-frame and a Lollypop, followed with a Down rail and Jibtone. The second line offers Rollers where beginners can try out their first jumps. And the third line consists of Jib-obstacles with new Pyrabox.

Two weeks Stubai Zoo presented the replica of the Billabong Air & Style kicker. German parkdesigners Schneestern made a great opportunity for riders to familiarize with the conditions. Almost the same kicker and perfect weather conditions gave riders opportunity to start with even more self-confidence into the Billabong Air & Style.

Riders like Seppe Smiths, Marko Grilc, Sani Alibabic, Gigi Ruf, Marc Swoboda, Eero Ettala, Peter Konig and Co. showed that no matter how big is the kicker they can throw any trick the crowd wants to see it. Going switch, making double flip, doble rodeos or corks, even big spins with double grabs, all that and even more was just a piece of cake for the present riders. The whole Stubai glaicer was holding breathe while riders were having fun.

Pre Air & Style Madness at Stubai Zoo

Yesterday Stubai glaicer entertained a real madness. Stubai Zoo presented the replica of the Billabong Air & Style kicker. The almost similar takeoff, table and landing. We are talking about perfect conditions to warm-up runs and check the last tricks before Billabong Air & Style at the Bergisel Stadium on 05.12.09.

German parkdesigners Schneestern made a great opportunity for riders to familiarize with the conditions. Almost the same kicker and perfect weather conditions gave riders opportunity to start with even more self-confidence into the contest on Saturday.

Everything went great! But a day before on Teusday Schneestern confronted with major impediment. 70 cm of fresh snow. While some of us were having fun in pow pow, Schneestern shapers were sweating and trying to rebuild the kicker. And they made it! Big up to bros from Schneestern!
