Throughout last winter we ran a comp online that would reward one faithful reader with a subscription to Onboard mag. For Life. You had to correctly answer that the cover star of the first ever issue of Onboard was none other than Mr Heidi Klum – yes, it really was Seal – and have some luck with the RNG. And that one lucky dude was Damien from the suburbs of Paris, who’s happily actually a snowboarder and not one of those career contest entering grannies. Happy days!

Damien was stoked:

“It’s actually thanks to Onboard that I bought my first board! I was coming back from a business trip in Biarritz, and the plane was late, so I went to the duty free shop and bought the “Onboard Special Matos”. I think I read it at least five times. A few weeks later I ordered online my first board (Burton Custom)…sweeeeeeeet! this was in September…

“Then starts the long, long, long wait for the winter time, looking every morning at my board. The only thing to made me keep going was to receive every month the Onboard Magazine, cool interviews, great product reviews and amazing pictures.

“I live in Paris suburbs, I don’t get so often to practice, Couldn’t wait too long, I decided to test my board for a short weekend in Valloire (fresh sensation pure pow in February) and then a weekat La Plagne. Now I have to wait for next year, so Onboard is my link to the pow.

So thank you Onboard for picking me up in that draw!”
