Xavier De Le Rue and Lucas Debari know how a base camp should look when they’re out in search of gnarly lines. You want it to be warm and cosy to come back to after a day out and about looking for your untracked lines in Antarctica. The guys figured they’d show us round their yacht ‘The Golden Fleece’ in true Cribs stylee. On the pimped out scale, their floating pad has to be somewhere above Jeremy Jones’ tent and below Richard Branson’s island mansion. Worth a peep.

In the first episode of freeride mental Xavier De Le Rue’s Swatch Timeline spots, he pays the Verbier area a visit in autumn to reminisce on the site of some of his heavy lines last winter.

You get to be put in his head as he tackles the heavy double cliff line and a bunch of other burl that made its way in to his Standard part, and get some interesting chat from Xavier, photographer Tero Repo and filmer Guido Perrini – the best part being as De Le Rue recounts the time last season when he was at the top of a line, ready to get it on for Tero and Guido’s lenses… and they were already in the pub having a beer. Epic.
