‘Beer O’Clock’ is what Xavier calls the summer months, when he can kick back and enjoy a couple coldies without worrying about gunning it down a face of doom the next day.

Filming big mountain riding means waiting for the right conditions to arrive. In this edit, the TimeLine crew check what the faces of the Ober Gabelhorn and the Lenzspitze have to offer at the end of the season in order to finish the winter with a bang before summer, also known as Beer O’Clock, kicks in.

For Xavier de Le Rue, Alaska is the Mecca of freeriding, so he decided to help his younger brother Victor to discover this environment during his annual trip to Haines for Standard Films with the TimeLine crew. Here is a sneak preview of what happened 2 weeks ago when they went there for an intense week of shredding.

The latest installment of Xavier De Le Rue’s Timeline webisodes sees the man deconstruct his and the crew’s approach to heliboarding as they fly the ghetto bird in Engelberg.

“Right time! right place!” is also how it works in freeriding. To make the best out of the last dump of the season TimeLine crew decided to visit Johan Jonsson in Engelberg for a day of heliboarding. Tero walks you through the different steps of a day on a heli shooting mission and Xavier and Johan get some good lines while managing the unstable upper layer.

Ok, so the ‘rails’ are more of the locomotive variety but this is still a nice edit of your boy Xavier cruising Switzerland by railway and bagging some nice lines.

TimeLine crew along with The North Face team decided to explore some of Switzerland best resorts using the unique Glacier Express train. Going through the Swiss Alps from Zermatt to St Moritz, it’s the perfect out of time mean of transportation to access some of world’s best resorts. It’s actually called “express” as you don’t need to change trains through your journey, but it couldn’t be any slower, which is great as the view was impressive the whole trip. A strong wind and arctic cold front didn’t help Xavier de Le Rue to find good spots easily, but efforts paid off and he could find fresh snow and nail good turns and cliff drops to enjoy each stop of the trip.

If you’ve been following Xavier De Le Rue’s insightful Timeline episodes you’ll be familiar with his wingman. Finnish photographer Tero Repo. Tero’s a man who’s had more than a couple of shots published in our fair print mag, so this spotlight on him and his working relationship with Xavier is most interesting…

In their words: “Tero is the dude behind the lens and responsible for Xavier’s coverage in magazine these past three years. To get good shot you need a good eye and good idea, Tero Repo’s got both but his skills don’t end there. He’s the perfect guy you want to have as a friend on a trip and a beer lover. Here is a small edit so you can get to know him and his photo style a bit more, it’s worth checkin’ it!”

Xavier de Le Rue and the TimeLine crew and went on a scoping session by plane and spotted a new zone in the hearth of the alps at the bottom of the Mt Blanc. After a day spent on site to check the conditions, Xavier invited his team mate Lucas Debari to test his new “Ice Laboratory” for a session combining, mountaineering, ice climbing and snowboarding.

With Europe getting nailed in early Jan 2012, Xavier De Le Rue, his bro Victor and Anne-Flore Marxer get their roosters on close to home. Season 2 of Timeline is ON.

A late winter doesn’t mean a bad winter, and bad weather doesn’t mean no fun! Xavier, Anne Flore and Victor are motivated to make the best out of huge quantities of freshly dump snow and stormy weather right before Christmas. From rappelling down to access a nice couloir to secret road to hit a hidden wall ride.

TimeLine crew is happy to present you the first episode of the second season, it’s ON!

The timing might be a little off (unless you live in the Southern Hemisphere of course) but Xavier De Le Rue’s instructional video on how to build a splitboard is pretty interesting. Different from a lot of other videos/online descriptions/boasting at the bar this clip actually tells you how each step is done properly. In fact, it looks so simple even we now believe we could do it – if it wasn’t for our laziness…

With a growing desire to seek new lines away from the resorts the demand for Splitboards has risen massively in the last couple years,

In this video Xavier explains how to transform your regular board into a splitboard.

The latest in Xavier De Le Rue’s Timeline series has gone live, and features the French freeride nutcase experiencing the highs and lows associated with being one of the world’s foremost big mountain chargers. Check it out…

The past few weeks have proved tough for Xavier, a couple of heavy slams combined with lackluster conditions means this part of the season has been more challenging than most. Competitions and filming sessions didn’t go as expected, and you get a glimpse of the frustrations he’s experiencing. Nevertheless, Xavier sent it during the X-treme Verbier, and finished with a nice line and a victory run at the mother of all freeride contests.

Xavier’s next mission will be in Jackson Hole with Jeremy Jones to film for “Further” before heading to Alaska if snow gods wake up and deliver the precious goods.
