Who would have thought that Airblaster was going to post Home Runs with each and every of their trendy team riders. For starters, we didn’t. That’s why we kind of ignored the first few edits, even though they struck us as being excellent examples of excellent, mellow snowboarding. Hence we changed our minds and give you all that have been posted so far: Ben Lynch, Jed Anderson, Leanne Pelosi, Nick Dirks, Tim Eddy, and Travis Parker.

„Sleeping Giants“ – World’s first crowdfunded snowboard documentary

Have you ever heard about crowdfunding? No!? Well, „Sleeping Giants“ is worlds first snowboard movie which is partly realized by its own fans, you! The teaser is finished but there is still a lack of budget for the post-production to fill. Fans can choose various kinds of support and get interesting rewards for their donation.

So don´t wait, support the project for example with 5 Euro and get the movie as high definition download delivered as christmas present earlier as regular non-backers will be able to watch it

It happened more or less on accident when filmmaker René Eckert (www.blickinsfreie.de ) decided to create a new snowboard documentary in 2011. With the unique chance to visit China, Eckert decided to use that opportunity to realize Blickinsfreie´s new masterstroke. The movie is presented by our long term partner Ripzone Europe (www.ripzone-europe.de ).

After movies like “From Romania with Love“ or last year’s highlight “At Equilibrium“ the new movie deals with the development of snowboarding in China. The documentary focuses on the passion-driven Chinese shredders and the key role of the Nanshan Open snowboard competition which has driven the young Chinese scene to become one of the most progressive out there.

Besides Chinese stars including Wang Lei and He Wei, legends such as Travis Parker and Risto Mattila join shooting stars Nils Arvidsson, Marc Swoboda and Werni Stock to give a deep insight into the snowboard culture of the Far East.

Like in the last years, the movie will be premiered during a world – wide premiere tour kicking off in October 2011 in Beijing (China) followed by the release of the movie as High Definition download around Christmas 2011.

Those ones of you that always wanted to know how subcultures like snowboarding develop in a world where Facebook or Myspace is banned, should make sure to visit one of the premiere stops or get ready for the movie as HIGH DEFINITION DOWNLOAD at Christmas 2011.

"This Week in Snowboarding? Not AGAIN!"

A week is a long time in snowboarding. That’s why we made it shorter: Due to the absence of our entire web crew on Friday this This Week in Snowboarding only has six days. Burton remixes Keegan Valaika. Pro Bono is a solid free movie. When you have enough snow Hamburg is a great rail spot, and Zharevo is an Eastern European shred flick.

Hitchhikers have to get ever more creative in order to get picked up.

We post the legendary Euro Gap 2, Maria Thomsen’s rail riding is pretty, pretty good, The Ästhetiker hit pow kickers at the Arlberg, BHP’s Spend It All has some good sponsors, the Stubai Premiere highlight vid looks alright, Ted Borland’s movie part is sick, Yobeat follows the L1 team, the Angry Snowboarder posts the It’s on Tape flick, and Flow has a nice edit of Scotty Lago’s shenanigans at the Olympics.

You know Travis, we know Travis, and you also probably know that after carving himself out a niche as one of the most progressive, creative and eclectic snowboarders of his generation, he seemed to just disappear. Well, there were the rumours of him starting from scratch as a regular-footed rider (Travis rides Goofy), training to be a sushi chef and enrolling himself in art school but now he’s come back to the shred and jumped back in bed with old sponsors, K2. He’s even been filming for this year’s Respect Your Elders project – a movie packed full of rippers who are on longer spring chickens but rip nonetheless

K2 are obviously pumped to have the guy back and TM Kevin Winkel had this to say:

Once again our underage, malnourished interns’ sore fingers have dug out a lot of internet gems from the world of shred. Meet Denis Leontyev, the “Russian Bradshaw.”, and Grilo, the red eyed monster from Bali.

TUESDAY

The day kicks off with some fantastic crashes from Windells. Then there’s yet another Comune teaser. The YES crew discuss girls at the Camp of Champions. Polish jib legend Wojtek Pawlusiak gets his shred on in Les2Alpes. We give away tons of shred gear, and in other news Mikey LeBlanc is a great actor, JP Walker nabs a sunblock sponsor, and Jonas Carlson is the man.

WEDNESDAY

The Deeper crew scores some great pow in Utah. The FIS calls Swiss snowboarders roosters. The HCSC is always good for some really good summer shred action. And so is Dan Brisse at the CoC.

THURSDAY

Whitelines relaunch their website and bring us jibbing Jeremy’s full part from The B Movie.  Spanish scientists found the formula for a truly endless winter. We still publish a print mag, and it looks sick. Airblaster puts out a racy Airbabes vid. After 400 years of debate the US and Canada agree on the same avalanche danger scale.

FRIDAY

The Windells session 5 includes a little pie fight. DVS releases a nifty Eero Ettala ad, featuring both his supreme skate and snowboard skills. Someone has too much time on their hands and produces a best of 2010/11 teasers teaser.
