Yeahh Productions’ FK-focussed A View From The Quiet dropped in parts last year, but now they’ve release it all together in one style-heavy package. Fredi’s on our shortlist of greatest riders of all time, so we have taken the liberty of posting it so you have the chance to check it if you missed it, or enjoy again if you didn’t. The man’s the boss.

While strictly speaking this is not 100% snowboard news Trevor ‘Trouble’ Andrew did use to have one of the finest McTwists in snowboarding, plus it’s frickin’ summer and everyone needs some eye swag…

Remember that McTwist in 1999? The numerous video parts with Absinthe Films? In his prime Trevor Andrew was one badass mother on a snowboard and while he’s now focussed mainly on his music, as this clip shows he’s still got the skills to pay the bills. There’s also some disc spinning in Tignes’ notorious Blue Girl club, which we could tell you more about had we not been so leathered every time we’ve been in there. We do remember a pole and necking Flaming Samubcas while they were still lit, but everything else is a void of empty memories.

Taking his band colleagues from Brazil and Japan to a session in the park and shredding with longtime friends Nicolas Müller and Gigi Rüf, there is also some nowadays very rare footage of “Trouble” on a snowboard, so make sure not to miss out on it.”

Maybe Twitter never blew your hair back but these days even in the snowboard scene the nifty short message service has become kind of relevant. The other day we posted a list of 11 Snowboarders You Should Follow on Twitter. Of course there are some more out there, but unfortunately many of them update their Twitter account through Facebook. While technically these are still active Twitter accounts, chances of getting a response or a retweet from these guys are probably as good as seeing another tweet from Peetu Piiroinen.

Our latest Mixtape is that of ex-Burton pro turned tunesmith, Trevor Andrew. It’s an audio 101 to his musical influences. Feed your earholes…

Back before Trevor ‘Trouble’ Andrew was focussed on pumping out electropunk he was a pretty dang shit-hot shredder. Anyone remember his ender McTwist in 1999? Or his heavy parts with Absinthe Films? Or the fact that he was one of the OG Burton 7 and occasionally went by the name of the TRZA?

Of course, despite having a pro model on YES Snowboards this coming winter, Trevor is better known for his audio output these days. And this Mixtape of the 10 tunes he was digging when we hit him up last season for our Audio Pro feature pretty much lays out the musical roadmap you’ll hear in his own tunes. Part punk, part rap, part electro, all awesome. Click play.

Absinthe Films have been dipping into their archives of late and have just released this interview – that contains a solid wedge of action too – with Trevor Andrew in 2003 before he turned into a rock star.

Trevor had been better known for his transition skills at this time, but still he managed to convince the Absinthe guys that he was worth taking a punt on for their movie, Saturation. He duly stepped it up in the backcountry, slayed it and even managed to bag the movie’s ender. Check the interview with Trevor done in the pool – there’s a whole bunch of great footy from Saturation including not only Trevor, but Romain de Marchi, Nicolas Müller, Stefan Gimpl and more.

Rusty made the move to Whistler, BC right out of high school to snowboard amazing terrain every day. Like an incoherent Intervention subject, Rusty was officially addicted to powder. To support his habit he got a night job as a bartender so he’d be able to save up and buy a beat-up truck and sled to get himself in the backcountry where some of the best moments of his life have, and continue to happen.

Rusty’s been filming with Sandbox since day one, and grabbed the ender part in this last seasons’ film, Now You Know, while also putting together a part in F__K It.

And in other news Trevor ‘Trouble’ Andrew is from now on part of the YES. Crew. Which is kind of sick as this reunites him with many of his ex-Burton team buddies: JP Solberg, DCP, Romain de Marchi and Tadashi Fuse.

SATURDAY

We flicked on the internets Saturday morning, idled about and and checked out Antti Autti‘s site and saw his footage of riding a kicker on a Finnish beach. We have no idea when it was from, but it’s maybe the weirdest location for a kicker comp ever. Keeping it Finnish, Buoloco squeeze some chat out of Markku Koski’s face about sponsorship while Stateside Darrell Mathes and Nima Jalali get their Harlem Globetrotter on, and Shane Flood joins the YEA.NICE family and rides the worlds smallest halfpipe. There’s a shot of ‘When Double Corks Go Wrong’ in there too that’s pretty wince-inducing.

SUNDAY

We post up our slick edit of the Forum International team enjoying the summer slush in Les 2 Alpes, while in Teaserland, the offerings for Alterna Films’ ‘Hello World’ and Bamboo Pictures’ ‘Sketchy’ drop into the pipes. The Angry Snowboarder shares Kingpin’s seminal movie ‘Destroyer’ from 2000 with the world (set aside 40-odd minutes to watch the full thing – it’s epic and has Gigi’s first pop at a double cork amongst other bangers), VegHeads are from Canada, eh, and is this clip of Heikki Sorsa the future of snowboard movies? At least the iPhone still films when you hold it ‘wrong’.

MONDAY

The first day back behind a desk always blows, but it’s made better as Nitro’s TWS Team Challenge effort is birthed onto an expectant internet by Mr Ettala and hammers continues to rain down at the Camp of Champions when the Stepchild/People session wraps up. TSA opens registration to their hyper-awesome mega-extreme Winter Games contest – banked slalom, high jump, hurdles (hurdles?) and long jump, bitches – and in slightly less EXXXTREME contest news, the Dew Tour announces its schedule. Sorry, but if you ain’t got hurdles you ain’t shit these days. Other Monday tidbits include photo hound Eric Bergeri launching a new website, a clip that had us reciting Colonel Kurtz – “The horror, the horror…” and Trevor Andrew dropping a fresh mixtape on your asses.

TUESDAY

After a successful time in Val Senales, the World Rookie Fest prepares to head down under, while in addition to the nighttime surfing we brought you a couple of weeks back, there’s now more photographic evidence of what the Grenade crew got up to on their Summer European Vacation. In movie-related news, we love the Pirates: not only do they annually drop heavy snow porn filmed with love, they also like rum and saying ‘Aaarrrgh’. They just wrapped their infamous intro shoot in Kaprun, and let it be known that it won’t be long till we can get pumped on their teaser for the new flick, Hooked. There’s also a new teaser for the upcoming Lives of the Artists 2 that gives us a glimpse of what Jones and De Le Rue got up to in Antarctica. Finally, Nico Müller talks ninja moves and nutrition.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday kicked off with a thunderclap as Absinthe Films dropped teaser for NowHere. It’s one of the few really ‘holy shit!’ teasers out so far, so we hit up Brusti for the nitty gritty too. The Flow team also have a video coming soon – Witness the Sickness –  and their teaser even contains real live vomit and Lago’s monster overshoot as well as some old fashioned shreddery. Double time: Protest are now sponsoring the British Champs, Fear of the Park’s Shred, Lies and Videotapes series is ‘almost 20‘, The Snowbroader crew went on tour this spring and have a video of the haps, Eero Ettala hits rewind and brings you an awesome clip of him riding in 98, and Chris Sörman is, apparently, an athlete.

THURSDAY

The TWS Team Shootout entries are coming thick and fast as Volcom’s entry hits the airwaves, but the Private crew aren’t bothered by that as they drop their Beneluxurious teaser for ‘Click Clack’. Meanwhile, Videograss announce the dates for the world premiere of Bon Voyage, photo G Colin Adair gets a nice profile, and in case you didn’t already know it DCP is a cool guy. That was going to be that for Thursday and we were about to go skateboarding. However, as we were headed out the door we saw Antti Autti’s Twitter message, checked out this video of a 6-year-old girl bowl riding and promptly quit skating for good.

FRIDAY

It’s all go in Kangaroo country as course details have been announced for the Dew Hut Jam where you’ll be able to scrap for a share of the 19K purse. In the US and A, Eddie Wall updates the Video Hyper Shred site with some awesome shots of his previous career as an autograph hunter back in 97, along with memories of a cool Jamie Lynn, a bummed Peter Line and a mumbling Terje, and the Airblaster guys found an interesting interview with Think Thank’s Jesse Burtner about their new movie Right Brain, Left Brain. Ashbury catch up with Jake Kusyk, a guy you’ll have been seeing a lot of in the CoC edits, and for those who were wondering how to stand on hot black c.. err, asphalt, Heikki Sorsa’s got your back.
