Cees Wille, Kas Lemmens, and Wessel van Lierop ran into Halldor Helgasson and Tor Lundstrom who were practising some big moves on the Kicker.

Sooner or later all good comes to an end. But to make this end a little less painful we kept one very special episode for this moment. In May 2011 the Smith Team came together in Val Senales for the Team Shooting, to go snowboarding in the awesome shaped park and to ride the backcountry. The busy timetable of the riders makes it difficult for a team to spend some time together, so that this week was at Schnalstal was a very special week. Shared BBQ, night shootings, having a beer together and things like that made that time memorable. We hope that we could catch some of the atmosphere to pass it on to you. At the end of last season the Isenseven riders and filmers descended en mass on Val Senales to shoot on some of the insane park features built for them by F-Tech Constructions. They’ve been kind enough to throw love back at F-Tech for all their hard work by cutting together a rad edit of the hammers that went down. Well worth watching.

The past end of season we spent some great days in Val Senales together with our friends from Isenseven. This is what came out from the F-tech Spring Session in April and an epic week alone at the wonderful and closed Val Senales glacier. A week full of creativity, riding, having fun in the Bella Vista house with jaccuzi, amazing view over the mountain and a lot of good food.

Ludvig Billtoft from Sweden and Klaudia Medlova from Slovakia took the honours for men and women at the 2star Summer Rookie Fest 2011 in Val Senales, Italy, the first event of the World Rookie Tour 2011-12.

With 24 riders from Italy, Switzerland, Cezch Republic, Sweden and Slovakia, the event was hosted in the Nitro Gentlemen’s Snowpark, one of the best summer glacier park in Europe.

In the male rookie category Ludvig Billtoft rode the strongest and won an all-inclusive invitation to the legendary 3Star slopestyle “World Rookie Fest” in Livigno, Italy. Martin Mikyska from Czech Republic and Nicholas Bridgman from Italy nabbed second and third with solid runs on the slushy summer snow. For the rookie girls the Slovakian ripper Klaudia Medlova put in a solid shift and her high level of riding won her section, followed on the podium from Verena Rohrer (Sui) and Katerina Yanova (Czk). In the young grom division, with kids born from 1997 and up, the male winner was Dario Burch from Switzerland while the female winner was Katerina Vojockova from Czech Republic.

The event tooke place during the Summer Rookie Camp, an international training meeting dedicated to riders under the age of 18 who wish to improve their skills for the upcoming World Rookie Tour. The 2Star Slopestyle “Summer RookieFest” happened on the last 2 days of the camp, and saw the participation of many of the campers, plus national rookie teams that joined the meeting.

The Summer Rookie Fest was organized by the World Snowboard Federation in collaboration with Board Riders and the Asociace Ceského Snowboardingu and made possible thanks to NItro, Snowpark.it, supported by Cableway Val Senales, Gentlemen’s Riders, Neuro, energized by Red Bull.
