[Unfortunately the dude who posted the video seems to have shut it down now. Apologies.]

At Snowboarder Mag’s The Launch, young buck Trevor Jacobs launches off a quarter, grabs hold of a chairlift and is promptly whisked away clinging on for dear life. We’re sure it seemed a good idea at the time, but the dude you hear chuckling “Now what?” sums it up pretty good.

Happily he doesn’t fall from the lift – unlike this guy – but it’s clear the liftie fella ain’t that stoked on his stunt when he finally makes it to the top.

No, there’s no snowboarding in this but who of us doesn’t enjoy watching overenthusiastic, undertalented skiers getting a good spanking? This dude, Pierre, just won the internet by taking a video of some Norwegian dude trying to kill himself and remixing it to some classic tunes.

This video is, in a nutshell, what the internet was made for. Fu faaaaan!

Pierre himself commented: I did not shoot this. I found it on YouTube (user: TmanAthz123) and wanted to add some tunes to it. Original clip with their description: youtu.be/ugD-qfhSAvE ”Sebastian Olsen from Norway jumped on a huge jump for the first time, and he crashed like crazy. Looks like he died. Thankfully, he only broke his leg. Share this Video, this shit deserves to get viral!?”

Yes, this just happend. A 13-year-old just landed a backside 1440 triple cork. The world’s gone mad.

We’re sure you’re familiar with pint-sized Norwegian Markus Kleveland from a couple of mind-blowing edits that dropped over the last couple of years, including this one where he puts down Cab double 12s… at a mere 12-years old. Now he’s gone and turned it up to 11 by stomping a back triple 14 at a kicker session in Vierli, Norway.

“I was inspired when I saw Torstein Horgmo landed the triple cork for the first time three years ago,” says Marcus. “Since then I have wanted to try it, and the first time I dared to try was at the Red Bull Performance Camp in Sun Valley last year. But the jump there was too small, and I landed on ice. Now everything was perfect, though.”

However, it turns out that our Marcus has had a seriously unfair advantage over the rest of us. We discovered he’s actually been snowboarding since he was 3 and we guarantee that if we too had started at such a tender age we’d totally be triple dipping all over the shop too and this wouldn’t be a big deal. Sadly the snowboard had yet to be invented when we were three, and more importantly the internet couldn’t play video when we were 13 either, so we missed the opportunity to snag the fame and glory this young kid from Dombås will surely have coming his way.

In the latest addition to our Near Death files, a French dude peeks over the edge of a cliff, loses his footing, slips, tumbles through a minefield of craggy outcrops and ends by plummeting off a sizeable cliff.

[We've posted the video pre-loaded to where the madness begins, so press play and marvel at how the dude appears to be for the most part Ok by the end.]

In the latest addition to our Near Death files, a French dude peeks over the edge of a cliff, loses his footing, slips, tumbles through a minefield of craggy outcrops and ends by plummeting off a sizeable cliff. It starts out looking pretty bad and proceeds to get worse from there on in. Gut-wrenching. We thought he’d definitely be seriously injured after such a hectic ride – if not even a goner – but, much like the well-documented skier who slipped off a gnarly cliff last season, by the end you see he seems to have miraculously escaped any kind of serious injury. Insane.

And this just in from our French ed, who we asked to tell us what Monsieur Neuf Vies is saying…

In the beginning, when he starts coming down, he says “I’m crapping my pants!” and “I don’t even know how to get back to the resort!” then
“Aaaaahhhhhaaarrrgghhhhhhh!” [we'd already figured that one out...], then “I can’t believe I’m still alive…”

Was the guy super unlucky or just plain reckless?

We have no idea how this kid ended up dangling from a chairlift in New Mexico, but if ever there’s something to convince you to put the bar down it’s this.

Though the 45′+ fall did the dude some damage, he escaped serious injury as this report explains and was discharged from hospital after a couple of days of observation. Nevertheless, goofing around on a lift with the bar up was probably not the smartest thing he’s ever done…

Our brothers of other mothers at Whitelines got sent footage of this rather mental bit of DIY jib box manufacturing. Built by Rich Holland from Floda 31, when you ride it, the pressure causes the lights to turn on with some rather interesting results. Fill a whole jib line with these kind of features and you’d be able to have a proper outdoor disco party with like chicks and a bar and tunes and stuff. BOOM! We need to make this happen.

We saw this Norwegian ‘rookie’ Jørn Simen Aabøe stomping the double version of this back at the recent Nike Chosen Sessions, but now he’s taken that off-the-toes bad boy to triple. We don’t know quite what to make of that, our mind’s still spinning. Watch this and have your brain blended.

We heard this had gone down in Norway the other day from our shooter Olav Stubberud who fired over the sequence of this insanity, then today a Norse gent named Jonas, who works for Jørn’s sponsor, Billabong, dropped us the video evidence and it’s quite the eye opener. After putting down a couple run-of-the-mill, basic, no-biggie double corks, Jørn steps it up a gear to join the exclusive triple cork club with his hectic frontside off-the-toes version. It’s like how people used to do frontside rodeos in the 90s, but cranked up to a whole other level of spin-flippery.

With Torstein Hogmo’s OG front triple 14, Mark McMorris’ backside triple 1440 and Cab triple, Seb Toutant’s take on the back 14 triple, Pat Burgener’s switch backside 1440 triple, and now this, it can safely be said that snowboarding has gone properly mad. But is it all a step too far? The riders will tell you themselves that they prefer the feeling of a floated switch back 5 but when kids are amping to break boundaries, for better or worse, this is where the frontier is in kicker riding these days. Hats off, Jørn, you mental.

We don’t even know what an Opossum is – it appears to be some kind of giant rat – but this one not only holds a season pass to Liberty Mountain resort, it can even snowboard as well.

We had to post this as it’s the first time in a while we’ve seen a one-minute video part without a single doublecork. Scandalous. Ratatouille, you need to step your game up son.

With conditions unseasonably warm across large parts of Europe, here’s a frightening reminder of the power of avalanches. Especially slow, heavy as hell ones that plow into running chairlifts. Mental…

The power of this heavy slab that ripped out the side of a face in Saint Francoise-Longchamp in the Savoie region of France is frankly awe-inspiring. How no one on the lift was hurt is a minor miracle. Take care out there.

And here’s the POV of some dude who was on the lift as it happened. Oh la la!
