No, Halldor ain't has his nose broken and no, we ain't been messing with him. It's just a print thang.

Halldor’s bossing it right now. Girls want to be with him, guys want to be him, he bagged the opener in Standard’s TB20, he’s leading the charge online, he comes either first or dead last at contests… Halldor is the man. Our German ed hooked up with him and infamous partner in crime Johannes Brenning in Norway to get the lowdown.

ARCTIC EXPOSURE

YES Snowboards founding fathers JP Solberg, Romain de Marchi and DCP rented a boat and toured the Norwegian fjords with JP’s bro Stian. Our shooter Matt Georges was along for the ride to document this unique trip. We think we avoided any ‘I’m on a boat!’ gags too.

We don’t know much about this clip other than it features Japanese Airblaster and YES rider Futa Adachi – and that it’s absolutely bangin’! Bring on the snow!

Rusty are back in the shred game and have enlisted the considerable talents of RDM as their flagship rider. As Romain and the rest of the YES crew spent the season scouring the globes best spots for pow, he’s pumping out a few cuts of what’s been going down – and this is the first.

They certainly scored enough snow for Romain to frickin send it off a pillow line and come up unscathed and able to tackle it again, though not sure why all the bangers are cut short. Put ‘em out there, boys!

The ISPO juggernaut rolls on and despite hangovers, pole dancers and Reef girls we’ve managed to bring you shots of even more of the 2011/12 snowboard product. Onboard mag: Straight from the shoulder.

Wait a minute! It’s been another week already? Then it is high time for our popular “This Week in Snowboarding”. Once again our underage, malnourished interns’ sore fingers have dug out a lot of internet gems from the world of shred. If you feel you are too busy right now to go through our collection of awesomeness please be reminded of Bertrand Russell’s wise words: “Time you enjoy wasting isn’t wasted time.”

SATURDAY

Technically, most of these are links from last Friday, but what the heck, they are just too good: The CWGKA Snowboard Throwdown gets filmed in a classy tilt-shift look, Our Cup of Tea is a conclusive lo-fi production from Sweden, and holy cola: The Split the Sin is quite a banger from Canada and Sweden. Videograss jibs Brighton, the Windells session no. 4 looks dope, Hannah Teter wins a do-good award, JP Walker gets humbled in Barcelona, Travis Parker still knows how to cash in, the Volcom Avalanche takes place somewhere in Chile (and offers some more tilt-shift views), Spatziba does High Cascade in decent style, DC might have sold their Mountain Lab, and everyone should know how to do a proper method. I said EVERYONE!

SUNDAY

Back in the day Grenade brought us the excellent movie Full Metal Edges. Today they bring us some weird copyright shit. The Garbage Gang is back with yet another clip from Les2Alpes.

MONDAY

Salomon wins the Transworld Team Shootout with this killer video. Two more Right Brain Left Brain mini teasers see the light of the internet. Happily Apo stays clear of financial turmoil. The TTR kicks off down under. Same Ol’ Streets is a darn fine movie from Quebec or whatever French Canada is called these days. Meet Denis Leontyev, the “Russian Bradshaw.”, and Grilo, the red eyed monster from Bali.

TUESDAY

The day kicks off with some fantastic crashes from Windells. Then there’s yet another Comune teaser. The YES crew discuss girls at the Camp of Champions. Polish jib legend Wojtek Pawlusiak gets his shred on in Les2Alpes. We give away tons of shred gear, and in other news Mikey LeBlanc is a great actor, JP Walker nabs a sunblock sponsor, and Jonas Carlson is the man.

WEDNESDAY

The Deeper crew scores some great pow in Utah. The FIS calls Swiss snowboarders roosters. The HCSC is always good for some really good summer shred action. And so is Dan Brisse at the CoC.

THURSDAY

Whitelines relaunch their website and bring us jibbing Jeremy’s full part from The B Movie.  Spanish scientists found the formula for a truly endless winter. We still publish a print mag, and it looks sick. Airblaster puts out a racy Airbabes vid. After 400 years of debate the US and Canada agree on the same avalanche danger scale.

FRIDAY

The Windells session 5 includes a little pie fight. DVS releases a nifty Eero Ettala ad, featuring both his supreme skate and snowboard skills. Someone has too much time on their hands and produces a best of 2010/11 teasers teaser.

That’s all the shabazz for this week, folks. Now have a good weekend – and don’t forget: It’s all about being proactive!

It’s vacation time all over the place. Nonetheless, we dug until our nails bled and found some more gems from last week’s internet snowboarding life. A Dutch crew gets some decent shred done in Les2Alpes. Ground Zero Boards hails from Michigan with a new teaser. And the Real as it gets teaser comes straight out of Illinois.

SUNDAY

The US celebrate Independence Day. Jibber Jeremy celebrates the US. Hampus Mosesson loses his baggage. The Angry Snowboarder delivers yet another classic movie: Gettin’ Some.

MONDAY

We post a solid Camp of Champions week A recap. And the thought-out Pro Bono teaser. Alex Doumergue shreds Les2Alpes and says ‘Ah, putain. Biiatch,’ which would be quite fitting for the French SKG crew and their teaser, too. The French event Kumi Yama spits out a good video, too. Clast does the CoC in Whistler. Kevin Backström gets scared by Raccoons. If you want to get away from those nasty crowds you need to buy some property at the Yellowstone Club. Or go to New Zealand: a crazy Kiwi shows you around Cadrona.

Heavy storms: Defoliation is a problem.

TUESDAY

Videograss have Jed Anderson and LNP battle it out on a wee backyard rail. The new Coldfocus movie Transitmies takes on gnarly rails as well. The Pirates announce their new movie. The Windells session 2 goes down pretty well. Boardmag.de digs out Gigi’s and Travis’ parts in Neverland. But it’s all nothing compared to the Shaun White haircut hoax. And here‘s how you prevent snowboard injuries.

WEDNESDAY

Some sick action goes down at the HCSC during their second snowboard session. The No Joke teaser gets released, and so does the Homies 3 teaser. YES jumps the webisodes-wagon. The Fisheye Fridays clips look good. Our photo ed goes drinking with Grenade. We have more shots from the Deeper Antarctica trip. Zombies invade Mt Hood. Shaun White invades the cheap shoe shelf. Someone has a snomoboard. Someone else makes an awesome short shred flick. And: Did someone beat Torstein to his triple?

Superman: New outfit.

THURSDAY

The Nike 6.0 D-Pad Session teaser drops with a bang. You just gotta watch video #4 here! Once again, print could be dead. And will the DC MTN Lab shut down? There will defo be another Winter X Games event in Aspen. And there’s tramp snowboarding, too!

FRIDAY

Standard Films release their teaser for The Storming, and it looks solid as ever! This is what Benelux summer shredding looks. This is what madness at the DC Mtn Lab looks like. Seb Toots is back. Eddie Wall is a singer. Backflip in surfing, anyone?

You just have to like YES. They have a great team, a good vibe and from what we’ve seen at early board tests they have some decent products on offer, too. And now they jumped the webisodes bandwagon, and at least judging from this first episode life at YES is quite laid-back. Here’s what they say themselves (add a French Canadian accent):

YES-isode 1, El Salvador part uno – this highlights our recent trip to the El Dorado Surf Resort at the famouns El Zonte Point Break in La Libertad, where the YES crew gather for a brand meeting, which turns out was about 40% surfing, 30% party, 20% meeting, leaving no time for sleep. YES we had a great meeting and go our 2011-12 product and marketing dialed, and man do we have some big news……stay tuned!

You can’t start a new snowboard brand when the world’s economy is going down the bog. Your career is shot when the big B decides to give you the boot. If you’re over 25 you’re done and kids don’t give a shit about you. DCP, Romain De Marchi, JP Solberg and Tadashi Fuse said ‘fuck that!’ and dropped YES. NOW BOARD on us last season and certainly proved the doubters wrong. Killer parts, sick boards and PMA are what these boys are all about and they’re only gonna get stronger in the future.

Although the team was unable to attend the event, they made an acceptance video which was presented at the Awards party and viewed by industry peers in attendance.
