After the first episode… comes the second! We’re stoked to be able to bring you the second full edit from the shredfest/junkshow that was the inaugural OVERALL. More impossible missions, more drunkness, more eating paté for 2 days, but also nice shredding in epic conditions… Now you’re starting to get the idea.

As you know by now too, there are two ways you can approach watching this: 1) Sit back, relax, and have no idea what all the points popping up count for as you enjoy a barrage of fun shredding, sick shredding and goofing around. 2) Read all this stuff…

A little reminder of the rules and participants

VonZipper, Nixon, & Advita
One week, three teams, and 83 missions.
Fueled by Monster Energy Drinks, in collaboration with Onboard and Mpora, the riders had to go through a list of missions mixing snowboarding, booze, tits, and balls. This is the first video of the three episodes for the first season featured on Mpora in January 2013.

This is the Overall.

Concept:

Every team is given a book of 83 challenges to be completed over 6 days with as many goals as they can being shot by a camera to validate their tasks. The team adding the most points will win the OVERALL and will be rewarded with a 2000€ Prize Money.

Rules:

The teams are made of 3 riders plus a cameramen or 4 riders shooting themselves.
Only one team rider can win the points for one challenge, except for the Team Sessions.

After it’s been dumping in middle Europe all weekend, why not start the new week with some amazing footage of one of the best female snowboarders out there: shredding’s sunshine girl Torah Bright.

This little edit by the Swatch TTR Tour tells the story of the 23-year old Torah Bright (AUS), one of the most successful and well-known female riders out there, who incidentally took the tour title in 2006/07 and has been paving the way for progression since she got on a board. In this video, Torah talks about her vision of the future for female snowboarding and also top riders like Cheryl Maas (NED) praise her skills. Without doubt one of the most progressive female snowboarders in the world, Torah goes on explaining how she got into practicing the Double Crippler in the pipe and her brother Ben, who has been coaching her for years, confirms his vision of Torah’s future in the forefront of the development of the sport. We’re sure work will go down a lot easier after such a kick start. Or maybe not…

Flo Achenrainer, Kevin Bäckström, Bobby Dangl, Felix Georgii, Bernhard Kraxner and Mitja Kodric shred the Stubai Zoo during its opening last weekend. Decent riding + some pasta cooking. What more does one want?

You know Travis, we know Travis, and you also probably know that after carving himself out a niche as one of the most progressive, creative and eclectic snowboarders of his generation, he seemed to just disappear.

You know Travis, we know Travis, and you also probably know that after carving himself out a niche as one of the most progressive, creative and eclectic snowboarders of his generation, he seemed to just disappear. Well, there were the rumours of him starting from scratch as a regular-footed rider (Travis rides Goofy), training to be a sushi chef and enrolling himself in art school but now he’s come back to the shred and jumped back in bed with old sponsors, K2. He’s even been filming for this year’s Respect Your Elders project – a movie packed full of rippers who are on longer spring chickens but rip nonetheless

K2 are obviously pumped to have the guy back and TM Kevin Winkel had this to say:

“As many of you may have heard, Travis Parker has been back on the scene, filming in this year’s Respect Your Elders film presented by Airblaster and K2 Snowboarding, helping K2 design boards, boots, bindings, helmets and more from the inside out, and helping to educate the world with his Environmentally Challenged Fuel Television Show.

Personally, I couldn’t be happier to have been able to bring Travis back in to work with K2 Snowboarding. He is truly one of the most amazing human beings I have ever had the pleasure of working with, a legend in snowboarding, and after a few years away, I know that snowboarding has missed him. Here’s to keeping snowboarding fun! Welcome back Travis!”

Still on the K2 tip, they’ve just dropped the teaser for their 2010/11 team promo vid. Featuring all their rippoids, like Eero Niemela, Shaun Mckay, Jordan Mendenhall, Leanne Pelosi, Danny Larsen, Gretchen Bleiler,Travis Parker Wille Yli-Luoma, Jake Kuzyk, Robbie Walker, Nick Dirks, Tim Eddy, Chris Beresford, Matt Belzile and more, the full movie will be spread out there shortly. In the meantime, here’s the teaser…

Sick video highlights of the big N’s progression session in Folgefonna, with riding from Jake Blauvelt, Eero Ettala, Gjermund Bråten, Jamie Nicholls, and many more.

What do you do if you’re Nike, have a recently assembled crew of überrippers and a couple a quid you found down the back of the sofa? You hire out a corner of Norwegian glacier for your team-members to throw down and get to know each other, invite along a couple of other duders for the ride and let them have at some killer terrain shaped purely for progression. This was the D-Pad session. Check it out. Bet you can’t even do half of this shit in Amped…

Here’s what they said about the project:

The venue, Folgefonna, Norway. The aim, to create a session that ends the season on a high and to get some of the great snowboarding minds together to push creativity and progression in the 20 hours of sunlight that Norwegian summers have to offer. With a set up created by legendary shaper Lars Eriksen, everything was in place to pretend we were back on those old computers experimenting with what was and wasn’t possible. Bring on the ‘The Nike 6.0 D-Pad Session’. The dozen riders selected for the task was a mix of established names who gave their take on modern snowboarding and next generation riders who did their part to kick snowboarding into the future: Gjermund Bråten, Ethan Morgan, Gerome Mathieu, Ståle Sandbech, Jamie Nicholls, Terje Håkonsen, Jake Blauvelt, Matt Ladley, Mason Aguirre, Eero Ettala, Kevin Bäckström and Erik Botner. And after seeing the footage, it is safe to say that the future of snowboarding is in safe hands.
